broadvoice/asterisk
Ok we have found a better solution. Put everthing back the way it was and make sure that you have this line in your general section of you sip.conf file: srvlookup=yes We have added a SRV entry in the correct place now. So everyrthing should go the correct servers. -james --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Version: 6.0.726 /

Broadvoice problems again
I had my asterisk configuration working very well with broadvoice, but it stopped working this afternoon. I plugged the Cisco 7960 phone I used for my origional signup (just a few days before they offered generic BYOD) and it works fine. I did notice it seems to do all of its comunication through proxy.broadvoice.com (I used tcpdump). I have never contacted broadvoice about using asterisk

Best Linux for Asterisk
Hi Andy, I have had tremendous success running Asterisk on Slackware linux version 9.1. Its very quick to install and I had absolutely no problem compiling the source code for Asterisk or anything else so far. I have asterisk running on 2 servers right now that use Slackware. -James -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-admin@lists.digium.com

Inbound Callcenter with multiple DIDs
I'm curious what asterisk solutions there are out there for inbound call centers with multiple DIDs. I'm looking for solutions for a setup where single system may have 1000 DIDs going to it, one for each account. Each account may not get that many calls. Solutions that will all reporting on calls coming into different accounts, call routing for queues based on distribution groups. Like

IAX DIDs, Illinois
I have been looking at moving from SIP-based DID (Illinois) providers to one that uses the IAX protocol for DIDs. After a search, I've come up with the following: http://connect.voicepulse.com -- $8/month, many rate-centers http://www.iax.cc -- $1.50/month + 0.014/min, many rate-centers Can that be all that there is? I like the pricing plan at iax.cc, because it would allow me to set up

Toll Free DIDs
I have several toll free numbers that get forwarded to a single local number assigned to a trunkgroup. I've asked the telco to not forward those toll free numbers but to assign them as DIDs to the trunkgroup, so that I can differentiate via DNID. They said that they can't do that. That toll free numbers must forward. I know that I could have them each forward to different local DIDs

How do I get DIDs for remote areas in Canada
I want the ability to setup DIDs in a variety of different remote locations in Canada. There are various providers that have DIDs in major cities, but none that focus on the "smaller" cities. The question is how do I actually setup these DIDs? Thanks, Geoff

Analog FXO or IAX DIDS for new facility?
I am a Linux sysadmin who has been tasked with developing the phone system for our nonprofit's new US headquarters building. We cannot bring our legacy phone system with us, so I am building this completely from scratch. I have already read "Asterisk: The Future of Telephony" and done a fair amount of googling. I am completely sold on Asterisk, and the new building's

DIDs anywhere but here?
Are there affordable DIDs (preferably IAX) available anywhere outside the US? I want to use it to meet ICANN requirements for providing a valid phone number, yet pre-empting some of the telemarketing calls my domain registrations generate. (Yes, I asked a similar question about 900# availability before). I'd prefer to have a number somewhere outside the NANP, preferably an asian country.

free dids on goiax.com
GoIAX, the Asterisk community's free IAX provider, is offering free US dids now. I loaded about 175 dids in and put up a very beta sign in page. Unfortunately I had to restrict the free us/canada outbound calling back down to toll-free only. There was a lot of war dialing and prank calling going on. I'm working on some stuff to hopefully curb that kind of stuff down so I can

Trouble using 2 IAX2 DiDs provided by different ITSPs
Asterisk 1.2.7 Redhat 9 I have DiDs from two different ITSP both set up as IAX2. Each one works when it's the only one in my iax.conf, but when I have them both defined in iax.conf at the same time, only one will work. My iax.conf is provided below. Any ideas how to fix? I'd like to use both DiDs! Thanks, H My iax.conf is below. When I dial the DiD provided by ITSP_B, the other

Multiple tennants, two DIDs, One IAX provider
I would like to setup a system with two tennants with two seperate DIDs through one IAX provider account. Is it possible to route the calls into different contexts based on the DID dialed? I have searched and found nothing. I do not see anywhere in the console that says what DID was dialed so I am thinking two seperate accounts are needed to make this work. Can anyone confirm? Thanks

831 Santa Cruz/Watsoncille, Calif. DIDs
Hey there, I don't know who else has suffered broadvoices terrible service, but I am about to my end with them. The lack of a LBR codec, the outages, the changing of servers without notifying subscribers haspushed me to my end. Now most incoming calls are abbruptly cut off within a minute of the call starting. Anyone know of any other * friendly providers that have DID, besides Voicepulse,
