Force logonserver in samba4
Hi everybody. We have a samba4 domain deployed across serveral countries. Some of them (overseas) have a poor VPN connection with mainland. Since Samba4 does not support (yet) subtrees, we have deployed a DC in each location for domain validation. However users in mainland logon randomly at overseas location and sometimes this is a problem due to low bandwidth available. Is there any way to

MGCP service from Free Télécom
I'd like to use the VoIP service from Free with Asterisk, but am having a couple of problems. Here are some details: ADSL from Free T?l?com comes bundled with VoIP and TV services. Most users access the VoIP via the supplied Freebox, which is an integrated DSL modem, router, ATA, and media player. It is of course possible to connect the Freebox to Asterisk via an X100P or other FXO

Mainland "Equatorial Guinea" missing?
In the World map, mainland "Equatorial Guinea" seems to be missing although two offshore parts, "Equatorial Guinea:Annobon" and "Equatorial Guinea:Fernando Po", are present. I'd like to be able to fill the mainland piece. How can I correct this? Thanks. -- View this message in context: http://n4.nabble.com/Mainland-Equatorial-Guinea-missing-tp1573691p1573691.html

Dealing with brute force attacks
Over the weekend one of our servers at a remote location was hammered by an IP originating in mainland China. This attack was only noteworthy in that it attempted to connect to our pop3 service. We have long had an IP throttle on ssh connections to discourage this sort of thing. But I had not considered the possibility that other services were equally at risk. Researching this on the web does

Re: [Asterisk-biz] bellster.net - GREAT advance

I also have Free ADSL in Paris, and would very much like to get their VoIP working natively with Asterisk. Free assigns each user both a public (for Internet access) and a private (for VoIP

Can one get a list of recommended packages?
R 2.10.1 is used in the Sage maths project. Several recommended packages (Matrix, class, mgcv, nnet, rpart, spatial, and survival) are failing to build on Solaris 10 (SPARC). We would like to be able to get a list of the recommended packages for R 2.10.1, but ideally via a call to R, so it is not necessary to update that list every time a new version of R is released. We do not want to access

US telco lingo
Could someone explain to a non-US dummy the following phrases I have seen on the list. "I can provide you with tier 1 termination 6/6. I can blend or NPANXX breakout." "We provide US48 termination, blended rate for 1 MOU and above is .008 with 6/6." What is 6/6? What is US48? What is blended? What is MOU? What is NPANXX breakout? -------------- next part --------------

Caller Id problem
Dear List, My problem is that the incoming Caller Id is not displayed on the local analog phones (connected to a TDM400 card). I receive the CID correctly from my telco, but when I place the call to the internal analog line, the CID is not propagated. An interesting point: when I try to place a new call to an already bridged line, I see the second call with the CID on the analog phone. The

Networking Concept
Hello, I would like to know how Asterisk deal in this case: Assume I have a Main Asterisk Server located in UK, and another box that have PSTN interfaces located in China, now the purpose is to FW calls through PSTN. Assuming I have a client who is calling from Japan to my main switch in UK and he is calling China, (japan have latency around 500ms to UK and 100ms to China), how asterisk

wine config file.
Most instructions for installing Wine suggest that you modify the wine.cfg file that comes with the distro, but with Mandrake 7.1 this appears to be a blank file. I have written a very simple config file, but though it seems to work, I feel that it is probably not extensive enough to run Wine at its best. Is there anywhere I can download a typical file that I can modify to suit my system. There

Corrections for Solaris stuff in manual
There are a number of errors in the R manual about Solaris. http://cran.r-project.org/doc/manuals/R-admin.html#Solaris 1) Firstly, Sun are now owned by Oracle, who bought them for $7 billion. 2) "(Recent Sun machines are Opterons (?amd64?) rather than ?x86?, but 32-bit ?x86? executables are the default.) " That's incorrect. All recent Sun workstations used *Intel* CPUs -

Perhaps France isn't asleep also or a least part of it.
I'm in the process of dropping my France Telecom (Wanadoo) connection 512/128 @ 29.99? per month to go to Free offering 1024/128 with fixed IP for the same price and when degrouped 2048. But it doesn't stop there. They don't supply a modem they supply the FreeBox which gives free as in gratuit calls to mainland France and 0.03?/min to group 1 countries. >From their tarif list they
