Sound card Line-In as MOH source
Does someone have a link to step-by-step instructions to making the Line-In on the console sound card a MOH source? I know this has to work somehow. MOH sourced from a sound card?
I thought this had been around before but I can't seem to find anything about it. I have a customer whom prior to upgrading to Asterisk invested in one of those boxes that plays your company sales campaign into the MOH port on your key system. For reasons of message maintenance he wants to keep the box as part of the new system. Can I couple this to the sound card in the Asterisk server

Does * machine need a sound board for MOH?
Does anyone know whether the linux machine running * have to have a sound card on it in order for musiconhold to work for sip phones? I've tried about everything (including tons of google searching) to get it to work, and nothing. When a call is placed on hold between two C7960's, the CLI indicates: -- Executing Dial("SIP/3002-c418", "SIP/3000|20") in new stack

Emergency Asterisk Guru help needed -- Yucky sound with MOH
I've recently upgraded *@home to CVS HEAD and in addition to losing the ability to use the MySQL database, I've noticed that my MOH has degraded significantly. I've tried all sorts of remedies -- removing the x100p card and loading asterisk without the zaptel drivers and such -- still have terrible MOH. I've used .raw. sln. mu. .gsm .mp3 files for the music on hold and it

Runaway MOH/mp3123 process?
Has anyone noticed a problem with runaway mpg123 processes for music-on-hold eating up ~100% CPU and driving the load on the machine way up? I've seen this problem consistently with multiple Asterisk installs, 1.2.x and 1.4.x, although admittedly it was more common with 1.2.x as far as I can tell. There is no clearly identifiable sequence of events that causes this to occur, although it

Issue with MOH - Asterisk 1.4.17
Hi, I'm currently working with Asterisk 1.4.17 under ubuntu server 8.04.2. MOH stopped working suddenly a few days ago with no apparent reason. I already checked the wiki and tried different things. I already verified the following items from the wiki: 1. Make sure your asterisk user has read access to the files/folder 2. Set your moh conf up as mentioned above 3. Go into asterisk -r and do

Transfer from MOH to MOH doesn't work.
Hi, If I try to transfer a user (user listens to MOH while I transfer) to eg. a queue, and the transfer occour while the MOH in the queue is playing, the MOH will stop, and the user hears nothing but scilence, but is in the queue. If I make the transfer to the queue, while still listening to the announcement, the user will hear the announcement, and then the MOH will start. Using latest CVS

Asterisk and MOH for Queues
Ever since I migrated to 1.2.X, I've noticed a problem with the MOH for any/all my queues. When there is only one caller in the queue, the caller does NOT hear the MOH. However, the moment more callers call into the queue, all the OTHER callers will start hearing the MOH, but the first one will still not be able to hear anything. Additionally, say there are 3 callers on queue. The

Asterisk MOH playing old audio for first 30 to 60 seconds
Calling all members of the asterisk community, I am posting about an old issue that has been reported many places and times online, To my amazement, there has yet to be anyone that has reported any solutions to the following problem. "Initially when putting callers on hold, it plays between 30 and 60 seconds of old audio that was on the stream in the past. Then after that 30-60 seconds, it

Only silence trying to play streaming MOH
I am having trouble getting streaming MOH to work. As far as I can tell I have everything configured properly but there is only silence. Your help is appreciated. I am running Asterisk 1.8.11-cert10 with mpg123 1.12.1 to play the stream (I have tried madplay, and mpg321, and I compiled streamplayer as well with the same results). I started by finding a working stream and tested this from the shell

MOH Oddity
I'm trying to setup my asterisk system for the least overhead as possible. My understanding (and experience with other systems) leads me to believe I can run any MOH using a certain class through a single 'player' as opposed to starting an independent stream for each MOH instance. However, try as I might, I can not get it to work. When I throw two calls into a queue, they are both
