echo's + cheap phones

I have tried all the possible things (rxgain, txgain, echocancel, i even changed the codec to g711) Is it

sipura 3000 mwi stutter problem
May be I have fiddled too much with my sipura settings but I can't get it to give the stutter tone when there is a new voice mail waiting on the asterisk box. I can either get a stutter tone all the time or not at all. Anyone got this working. Thanks Chris

a question about diparate device quality
List, I have a question about why plots sent to certain devices can be of so much worse quality than others. Whenever I plot to x11 or pdf the graphs are of excellent quality. eps is a bit poorer, but of passable quality, and jpeg or tiff are terrible. I tried all manner of parameters, on many versions of R (most major releases from about 2.2 - present) under linux and windows and on a few

Which IP phones have best voice quality, preferably under $150
Hi all, I have to buy some IP phones. Previously I have used Grandstream GXP-2000, Budgetone 101 and Linksys SPA-841. I always had problems with sound quality with all of them, and I was always of the opinion that it were the phones which were not good. In GXP-2000 deployment of about 50 phones, some work good, some have sound problems like words missing, clicking sounds when talking, and some

MusicOnHold (MOH) silent on BudgeTone-100 only.
I have the MusicOnHold feature working great when called from ATA-186 extensions. It's pretty cool. However, when I call from a BudgeTone-100 phone, no music is heard -- instead it continues the ringing feedback and acts like the call is unanswered. At the same time, I can call from (multiple) ATA-186 extensions and hear music as long as I like. How can I debug this? As far as I can tell,

Asterisk/Grandstream Budgetone disconnect issue
I am setting up a small Asterisk system for use at home. I have one Budgetone 101, one Cisco 7960 and two Xten lite softphones. So far everything is working expect for an issue with the Budgetone. When a call is placed between the Budgetone and any other phone, the call is setup and sounds good. If I hang-up on the Budgetone, everything is ok. If I hang up on the other phone, the Budgetone

X-Lite Build 1059 problems
Does anyone have X-Lite build 1059 working fully with Asterisk? The GSM Codec works very well now but we have problems when using G711 in that when I setup a ping between the two sites and then watch the latency, it steadily increases and starts at about 150ms and goes up to 2500ms within about 20 seconds. I have not investigated fully but I guess that its sending ever increasing size packets.

Prompts and sound quality of the X100P card (FXO card)
Hi We are trying to get better sound quality out of the prompts on our Asterisk system. We had some new ones made by thevoice.digium.com and they are in WAV format instead of the default GSM format on the Asterisk server. The problem is, when you dial in to the server using the FXO card (X100P) you really can't tell the difference between the WAV prompt and the GSM prompt, however, if you

BudgeTone NAT issues
Just for the record and to possibly help with others who get BudgeTone phones. My asterisk box is behind NAT, and I use Vonage, NuFone, and iconnecthere for my "POTS backhaul." On the front end I have an ATA186, a Digium TDM20, and now a BudgeTone 102. The BudgeTone definitely has issues wrt the RTP stream and NATting, although unfortunately I haven't yet been able to dig

Recording outbound analog calls with X100P
List members, Is it possible to record outbound analog calls using an X100P? I was asked if I knew how to record all calls for a shop with 4 analog phones transparently to the end users. I thought Asterisk was a good fit for this and I envisioned using either Digium TDM400Ps or Sangoma A200s with 4 FXO and 4 FXS modules. The FXO modules would be connected to the existing PBX and the FXS

BudgeTone 100 Woes
I'm using 1 BudgeTone 100 IP Phone and a Sipura 2000 for all my old analog phones. The analog phones with the Sipura seem to work great. Voice quality is fine on both ends on the Sipura. I'm using the Teliax service and I use the Ulaw codec for all phones. However, I'm struggling with the BudgeTone 100. On my end, I find there is lot's of voice cut outs. I'm told my

Sipura 3000 PSTN disconnect in the UK
Anyone else got a Sipura 3000 in the UK? Apart from CID not working it also seems to not notice any of the line state changes on the PSTN when the remote party terminates the call. It only recognises the offhook signal which gets sent much later. Chris

BudgeTone-102 MWI&CID with Asterisk
Hi, I'm considering giving the Grandstream BudgeTone-102 phones a try. I've been using Cisco 7960's to date, but the low cost of the Grandstream phones are hard to ignore. I have two questions: 1) Does the message waiting indicator on the BudgeTone's work with Asterisk? 2) The one line 12-digit LDC concerns me a bit. Is the LCD able to display both the CID number and name on

Inbound Free World Dialup - extension not ringing?
Hi to all the * people out there, Please kind to me as I am both new to Asterisk and to Linux - But I am learning fast. My config is quite simple, I'm just following examples and the Wiki: I have two PC's running X-Lite phones, these work without problems between each other, and I have a GS BudgeTone-100 registered to Free World Dial UP (working no problem). I have tried to
