Below is a transcript of failed transmit. This is with asterisk-1.0.3 (with native moh patch but I don't think it is the source of the problem). I already tried libtiff 3.5.7,

txfax spandsp
I've been using spandsp and rxfax to receive faxes for a while now and over the past few days I've looked into the other side of things - txfax. I can't seem to get it working properly. I've included debug logs below of both the tx and rx side of things. I've tried three different servers, asterisk v1.0.6, 1.0.9 and CVS, FC2 and FC4, libtiff 3.5.7 and 3.7.1, TE405P and

TxFAX problem
Hi Ppl. Once, couple weeks ago when I have updated * from CVS-HEAD something happen and I could not send a fax anymore. After that I have tried previous * CVS versions with different versions of spandsp (0.0.1, 0.0.2pre4, 0.0.2pre10) but without any changes. I have tried that on Fedora Core 2 with libtiff-3.5.7-16.1 and libtiff-devel-3.5.7-16.1. Everything compiles smoothly, but when I try to send

Softfax/spandsp
Hi all, After a long time having no time, I have finally done some fresh work on my software fax machine. I have replaced the original carrier tracking with something more robust. I have also added 4800, and 2400 bits per second modes, and cleaned up a few bugs in areas like superfine mode operation. I apologise for this update taking so long. At ftp://ftp.opencall.org/pub/spandsp you will

FAX application does not work for me....
Hi, I have tried to install and configure the FAX app using the steps described in several mails on this list. When a FAX call arrives on X100P, the fax extension is executed, which looks like: exten => fax,1,RxFax(/var/spool/asterisk/incoming/${CALLERIDNUM}.tif) exten => fax,2,Hangup It tries to negociate, but nothing is received at the end and the other part times out. txfax: "Trainability test failed"
Hi all, I'm using txfax and rxfax to send and receive faxes. I find that txfax performs very well when sending to an old fax machine. However, when trying to send to a Mac (OS X) that accepts faxes, I get a "Trainability test failed" message on the * console (full console log below). I'm OK with being unable to fax to Mac, as I'm just using it to test. For future

RxFAX generates no tiff file
Hi, I am trying to receive a fax with the spandsp library. The sending fax says "success" but there is no tiff file generated. I use "exten => 7000,1,rxfax(/tmp/testfax.tif)" in my extensions.conf. The connection is via SIP/G.711 as I have read on the list that this can sometimes work (I know Fax over IP is troublesome without T.38). I think the transmission should not

scandsp, voicetronix and rxfx
Hi all, Trying to get fax reception going using a voicetronix openline4 card, however, there are two issues (as far as I can see) (1) Currently the voicetronix world (cards, firmware, drivers, channel prog etc.) does not do fax tone detection. I have spoken to the voicetronix guys , understand what has to happen there and may do some hacking if I can resolve the second issue. Meanwhile, I

RxFax - Fast carrier training failed
I'm trying to send a fax to my asterisk box, however shortly after connecting the fax machine reports a "communication error" and hangs up. Below is the error I get from RxFax: Fast carrier training failed Nothing is written to the file system as far as the tiff is concerned. Any ideas on how to fix this? Software FAX Modem--One Last Request For Help
Here's one last plea for help from the list before I give up on the totally cool software FAX modem concept in complete despair (for now, at least, until I have more time to dig into it).... I am simply not able to successfully receive a FAX no matter what device I transmit from or how I bring the call into Asterisk. My lastest effort was a call from a Pitney-Bowes FAX machine into an X100P
