Asterisk RPMS for RH9 + RH7.3
Hello all, It's my birthday today, so as my present I would like everyone possible to download and test my updated set of RPMS for Asterisk 0.7.1. By popular request, I installed and built a set of RPMS for RedHat 9.0, and in the process fixed a bunch of issues from the initial build. I have also updated and will be maintaining a page on the Asterisk Wiki located at:

Asterisk 0.7.1 RPMS Updated to Rel 4
Neo: What are you trying to tell me? That I can dodge bullets? Morpheus: No, Neo. I'm trying to tell you that when you're ready, you won't have to. There have been over 500 downloads of the RedHat Asterisk RPMS since they were released 2 weeks ago, and I have received many comments to improve them. After some late night hacking this weekend, I have dropped 0.7.1 release 4 RPMS at

TE405P w/ Intel SE7210TP1_E Motherboard
Hello, I'm looking at building a couple new PRI Gateway boxes using TE405P cards, and was wondering if anyone has had any experiences (good or bad) with the Intel SE7210TP1_E motherboards from Intel. General Technics builds some really nice (and cost effective) 1U servers based on the board: Server: http://www.gtweb.net/gt637.html Specs:

IMAPD fix for RH
You probably know this already, but the following notice appeared to bugtraq. As a side note the protocol on bugtraq seems to be designed to make a fix available before the announcement by providing one yourself or giving the maintainer a week's advance warning (M$ gets a lot longer warning and *still* fails to fix the bugs before bugtraq knows). Having said that M$ insists on allowing me

Polycom 501 Phones Rebooting
Hello, At one of our locations, we have started to see Polycom 501s (running 1.6.7 firmware) randomly reboot. We have taken packet traces of the phones to determine if there is something odd in the Layer 2 or 3 of the network that might cause it, and have not seen anything strange. There are no errors on the ports. This appears to be affecting POE powered as well as AC powered phones. The Polycom

Debian Unstable Claims Asterisk 1.0-1
Howdy, I just did an "apt-get dist-upgrade" on my Debian unstable box, and noticed that the Asterisk version appears to be 1.0-1 in the unstable tree. I KNOW that 1.0 hasn't been released yet, so I am wondering who is responsible for the Debian packages? This will be VERY VERY confusing for people and it should be corrected ASAP. -rw-rw-r-- 1 1176 1176 1189696 Jun 7

new freenx and nx RPMS released, manual action for x86_64
There are new RPMS released for nx and freenx in the CentOS-4 and CentOS-5 Extras repository. I normally do not announce that here, as those can easily be obtained on a normal "yum upgrade/update", however in this case there are special actions required *_IF_* you have the x86_64 architecture for either CentOS-4 or CentOS-5 with the current versions of nx and freenx installed. symlinks?
I'm trying to switch to using rsync for updating a huge software library containing binaries, text files, symlinks, and so on. We've been using something homegrown which I'm not that happy with - it's a perl script that systems cp and chmod and such. The problem I'm seeing is: target computer: directories ctime-5 and ctime-5b3 are distinct directories source computer:

inetd & etc
Hello. I know that it is recommended to run smbd as a standalone daemon and to avoid inetd. Can you please tell me why inetd is discouraged and what problems it imposes? Also, I have one user who is having problems accessing her personal files on a MacOSX 10.3.2 via smb. Any ideas what may be causing it? Judy Lin NACS-DCS

Asterisk RPMS Updated (0.9.0 for RH73,8,9 and FC1)
Hello all, I spent a little time in the wilderness and when I came back to civilization, I found out that new Libpri, Zaptel and Asterisk archives were available on ftp.digium.com. As a result, I've updated my Asterisk RPMS for RedHat and made them available for public consumption. Because of several issues with Fedora Core 2 and the 2.6 kernel, I am going to wait before I even start

No sound into asterisk???
Hi - I think I might have seen this problem on the list before, so I'm sorry if this is a duplicate, but I couldn't find it when searching through the archive.... I'm just setting up a new machine with asterisk. It's a RH9 box, and I've tried the RC2 tarball, the 1.0 CVS and the 1.0 RPM's from nacs.net (thanks). My config is basically the sample barebones sip setup

CELT 0.8.0 is out
Hi everyone, Just wanted to let you know that 0.8.0 is out. You can get it from the usual place and here's the small notes that go with it: "CELT 0.8.0 brings quality improvements for high bit-rates and for transients in general. It also adds the possibility of changing the frame size dynamically, which requires a minor change in the API. At last, the new PLC algorithm from 0.7.1 is

button_to with image?
I''m trying to use button_to and have it use an image in place of the submit button. I had figured it would work the same as link_to like so: button_to(image_tag("editicon", :size => "16x16", :border => 0), :action => ''edit'', :id => person.id) but this instead displays the image code as the button name. Surely there is a simple way to
