MI2
My CLEC just called and asked if we will support the "MI2" protocol on our proposed T1 circuit. I think this is for CallerID name. Will the T100P support this? Thanks, Mike

Quick Question on Wildcard T100P
Guys, This is probably a stupid question, but I've got a client ordering service from a CLEC and they're going with a fractional T1. Only 6 channels are going to be voice. Is this a problem with the Wildcard T100P? We've only worked with a full PRI before. Thanks for any insight. -Corey ********************************************* This message has been scanned for viruses

ztcfg problems
Hello, I'm running Fedora Core 3 with udev, and asterisk/zaptel/libpri from cvs. I have followed the README.udev instructions replacing insmod with modprobe and rmmod with modprobe -r and adding the 60-zaptel.rules file, yet no matter what I do I still get this error on boot(or when I run service zaptel restart): [root@pbx ~]# /etc/init.d/zaptel restart Unloading zaptel hardware drivers:

Configuring new system for a non-profit organization
Hi, The PBX at the Colorado Organization for Victims' Assistance fried as a result of the building power being cycled. I'm now in the process of building an * system to replace the failed PBX. Minimum cost is the priority. I have a T100P card installed in the new system, and I am about to order integrated T1 services from the "CBeyond" company. They will require eight

SIP - Problem with audio clipping
Using a SIP connection with a CLEC, the downstream (received) audio is perfect when the mute button is activated on the phone. However, when there is upstream audio (i.e., talking or even breathing into the microphone), the downstream audio is cut off. It's kinda like having a half-duplex audio connection. When I divert outgoing calls to another provider, these calls are fine.

Telrad + E&M T1 Trunk
All, One of our customers is using a Telrad PBX, we are providing phone server through asterisk via a T1 using e&m directly connected to the Telrad system. We're using a T1 cross cable as normal, the T1 part works great. No alarms. When we try and dial out the Telrad using a direct trunk group, the call fails. When looking in the asterisk console I noticed only 1 or 2 digits are seen,

Asterisk with Adit 600
Hello, I am connecting Asterisk to an Adit 600 via a T100P. Unfortunately I am not able to get any lights on the T100P and the Adit 600 only shows red. I have already modprobed the t100p. Has anyone successfully connected these before? I've tried both a cross-over cable and a standard cat 5 cable, but I can't seem to get them to work. Any suggestions? Thanks! Craig

Asterisk Maintenance
I went on a service call yesterday to find an asterisk system with a T100P card on a Qwest PRI and a TDM40B card connected to fax machines. The TDM40B LEDs were not lit, and the system did not respond to keyboard input. However, calls were being processed for the PRI and 7960 phones. I replaced the TDM40B card with a new one, and the system now seems to be ok. But I'm wondering, why

Caller ID Presentment on PRI...
Hey folks, I have a T100P card with a PRI; when doing outbound dialing over the PRI, I can use SetCIDNum(2024561414|a) to force caller ID to display as "The White House" on a land line. This is apparently done as a reverse lookup by Verizon, as I do not hand the PRI the words "The White House" -- 202-456-1414 is an actual White House number. Using SetCIDName("Flying

Emagen (a Telrad VM solution) -- any way to replace with *?
Hi, all. I've got a PoS Emagen VM system tied in with our Telrad PBX. I hate 'em both, but I'm stuck with the Telrad for the time being. That being said, does anyone know of a way to replace the VM solution with Asterisk? I'd -love- to get an Asterisk box in the loop, here. Thanks, -Ken

COnfiguring an * system for a non-profit organization
Hi, Maybe someone has seen this before... I've installed a new T100P, but it doesn't seem to work. I've attached the T100P to an Adtran 750 using a crossover cable. The Adtran shows a red alarm on the T1 interface. The Adtran has been set to factory defaults with FXS cards in 1-3 and an FXO card in 5. The T100P shows no signs of life--the leds are not lit. Should I be seeing

Where is D channel in a PRI link?
We have contracted with Eschelon to provide voice and data over a T1 link. The plan is to terminate this link at a T100P card in the * system. The vendor has said that they will provide the D channel "contiguous to the voice channels" (voice on channels 1-8 and D channel on 9). The data channels would be 20-24. Will the T100P be able to accept this configuration? Does the PRI

Configuring new system for a non-profitorganization
What they are probably marketing is putting in their own equipment out there. I install a product that does exactly that. A paradyne jet fusion. It takes care of the part of which channels are data and which are voice. If it's anything like these, the lines will come out on pairs. You will then have to use channelbank and FXO/FXS cards to get it into your phone system. The jet Fusion

Hum/bux on line
Rich Hi, After Qwest pronounced my circuits as within spec. (yes, disconnected from the house) I listened on the lines with my butt set. Clear of all noise and hum. I then got my box of Cat3 and laid a circuit around the outside of the house and into my lab. Still clear of all noise and hum. I then connected the circuit to the Adtran and made a call. Lots of hum and buzzz. As I said,

Data through T1, nethdlc
Hello all, My set up is a fractionated t1, with 1-6 voice channels, 21-24 data channels. I have a t100P installed in a amd 1500 with 512meg. Question: In order to set up the data channels, is the following correct? 1) compile new kernel with generic hdlc support 2) compile hdlc from hq.pm.waw.pl/hdlc 3) uncomment KFLAGS+=DConfig_ZAPATA_NET in zaptel makefile 4) compile zaptel, 5 compile rest

libpri version 1.4.5 Released
The Asterisk development team has released version 1.4.5 of libpri. This release was made solely to correct a problem introduced in version 1.4.4. In February of 2008, a change was made in libpri to support inband audio (progress) when the far end of a PRI circuit issues a RELEASE message, indicating they want to terminate the call. This change was necessary for some applications where the telco

Re: Asterisk-Users digest, Vol 1 #1835 - 12 msgs
Thanks Brian, and thanks again for the included definitions <grin> - that helped too. Your comments are really helping clear many questions. I suppose our intensions are to become an IXC. So if my local carrier is sporting old technology, they'll provide TDM services. So if I understood you correctly, the "in-band signaling" is typically SS7, and the alternative is typically

T100P positional on PCI bus?
I'm about to install a second T100P card in my asterisk system, and now I'm wondering how the system determines span-1 vs span-2. Does the position on the PCI bus determine this? TIA Mike

Strange Quality problems with Asterisk, Gentoo, Redhat and Kernels - /dev/dsp
I've compiled Asterisk on Redhat 9 and Fedora Core 1 in the past, generally without any problems. Especially w/ the stock kernel, which I generally loathe. When I tried to upgrade my Redhat 9 Server to the 2.4.27 kernel, doing a manual/clean compile, I had massive quality issues. I was forced to go back down to a stock 2.4.24 kernel. Never figured out why. Now, I've installed Gentoo
