Outgoing calls for a fancy address book app
Hi ! I'd like to connect phpgroupware to asterisk: when a user click on a phone number, his phone rings and he gets connected to the number he just clicked. I've tried by putting various files in /var/spool/asterisk/outgoing, without results (we are using SIP phones + CAPI channels). Is there a way to do that ? (If it's impossible (something impossible in *, LOL ?!?) I will create

Why this stupid ingress tc does not work ?
Hi ! I wanted to shape my analog modem connection so I took these two lines from the ''wondershaper'' script: tc qdisc add dev $DEV handle ffff: ingress #tc filter add dev $DEV parent ffff: protocol ip prio 50 u32 match ip \ src 0.0.0.0/0 police rate ${DOWNLINK} burst 10k drop flowid :1 with DEV=ppp0 and DOWNLINK=24kbit. But, when I activate it, nothing comes back from the

Playing MP3's in Asterisk
Hi, Does anyone know what code (if any) format_mp3 uses? I am trying to play a MP3 (e.g. https://mp3.sermonaudio.com/16kbps/6111963257014/6111963257014.mp3) using PlayBack. Iget the famous "mp3/interface.c: Junk at the beginning of frame 49443304" and then right away it exits the PlayBack Application. I know I can use ffmpeg on the fly. I am currently getting the URL to play via an API

PXE: media test failure
Hi ! I'm using PXE to boot a Linux on a DLink DFE-530TX card. Everything worked well until I installed a Windows98 on it (please, foregive me...). Since the Windows drivers for that NIC were installed, I 'm unable to boot PXE, and I get the error: PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable Any clue on how to make PXE work as before ? OpenSSH on PalmOS possible?
A thought has been bugging me for a month or so, but I don't know where to look for the answer. Would it be possible to port the OpenSSH ssh client to PalmOS and other handheld OS'es like Symbian (EPOC) or PocketPC? Is the processor on PDA's fast enough? Would many libraries have to be ported aswell? I know that PalmOS and EPOC has an IP stack implemented.. Since the development

Cisco 7960g
I'm trying to set-up Asterisk server and I would like to buy 2 SIP phones. Has anybody tried Cisco 7960G? Or 7940? What audio compressions can I use with this phone and Asterisk? Reason why I'm asking is because Cisco supports G.711 and G.729a audio compression (probobaly some tohers but they are not listed on data sheet) and on Asterisk features i found that it supports G.729 but need

Byte order in ogg vorbis headers
Hello all, I am currently writing an application for PalmOS handheld devices that organizes media files on a memory card and allows the user to easily create playlists. The tracks I am using for testing (totalling about 1.5 GB) are nearly all in Ogg Vorbis format. Throughout my testing I have had very little trouble in parsing the comment fields from mp3, asf and ogg files. That is, all

chan_h323 + openh323 CVS = no go?
Hi, trying to build the h323 channel driver that comes with asterisk works fine, but only as long as I use openh323-1.11.7. Unfortunately, that setup seems to have a bug which misguides one of the audio streams. (So while * can "hear" me, the phone remains silent.) I suppose that bug is fixed at least in openh323 CVS. At least, I got things mostly working using the external

ogg player on a clie
Hi folks, I've been talking with Jack in IRC (mainly in the subversion channel), but he suggested that I pose my vorbis questions here, to the community of experts. I own a Sony Clie PDA, which is a PalmOS-4 device. Sony wasn't patient enough to wait for PalmOS-5, which has a standardized sound API and a new CPU powerful enough to decode audio. Instead, they just stuck a proprietary,

Interesting problem
I have three cisco 7910 phones connected to * through skinny protocol. When one of the phones is called, and the phone is ringing, you can hear what's going on in the room even though the caller hasn't answered. It's crazy and very hard to ignore when someone is calling :) God forbid you should cough while the phone is ringing. C.

Cisco 79xx XML carriage returns/line feeds
Hi All, I've been developing all sorts of applications for use on our 79xx handsets but am having great difficulty with formatting, I just can't seem to be able to produce a line feed between lines on the stuff actually displayed on the phone. Has anyone else has experience or success with this ? Cheers, Adam ********* DISCLAIMER ********* This message and any attachment are

Asterisk as a stand alone voice mail server
I'm sure asterisk would make a great stand alone voice mail server. Basically I want to get rid of our voice mail system and replace it with *, but the problem is we use a cisco cluster with skinny clients. So I was thinking the way to contact a * server, would be through our 3640. But so far any attempt has failed. I am wondering if anyone has done something similar. Just want to verify the

Adding ScreenDC
Here is the file to add ScreenDC. I noticed that it inherits from wxDC which is what the docs show but the headers for each platform are much different: - Mac,MSW,os2,motif,palmos all inherit from wxWindowDC - X11,GTK inherit from wxPaintDC - MGL, cocoa inherit from wxDC After saying that on Windows it still work inheriting from wxDC so I left it for now, any thoughts? rsync for PDAs?
I've been working for the past few months with open-source solutions for syncing Palm PDAs (Coldsync, mostly). I've been becoming increasingly annoyed with Palm's Desktop Link Protocol and the sync mechanism, and am considering replacing it with a third-party application for the Palm. Since I've had good luck with rsync in the past, its seemed an obvious choice. I've

Vorbis on Palm OS
Hi there. Apologies if this is off-topic -- I'll be happy to take this offline with the right individual(s). For those who don't know, the next generation Palm Powered devices will feature ARM processors and a new digital sound playback API, so naturally I'm working on a software Vorbis decoder app. Given the (probable) lack of floating point hardware on these devices, I'm
