* crash when forward voicemail message [problem solved]
Thanks for all your help Martin, Guys, This is a good find and hopefully could help someone else. I've been having a problem with forwarding voicemail from one mailbox to another. I ran down the sendmail and soundcard path and came up goose eggs. With intuitive guidance from Martin Pycko (Digium), I switched from Redhat 9 Kernel linux-2.4.20-8 to Redhat 8 Kernel linux-2.4.18-14 and it

* crash when forward voicemail --Nicolas Gudino
Hey Nicolas, That did it. I ran that export command you suggested, then launched *, everything worked fine. I'm still looking for info on what that command actually does. Can you shed some light please? Thanks. Voicemail .lock- files voicemail box not accessible
Hi All, Strange issue, recently I started getting a lot of .lock files in the voicemail /INBOX folder preventing proper access to voicemail. I can delete the .lock files and everything is normal. Voicemail Prepend Message Forwarding Not Working
Hi All, First I've heard of this feature not working from a customer. I did some digging and this is a common bug in several older Asterisk versions, it has more than a few patches in the bug tracker. I've tried a few of them but none will apply to a specific version I'm currently running for a customer, 1.6.0.28. Does anyone have a patch file that will apply to this version or an

Realtime Voicemail Table Column Name Question
Hi All, In the realtime voicemail table the column 'customer_id' is used, for my purpose, to specify the customers accountcode. The column name 'accountcode' is used in the iax and sip tables. To keep this consistent throughout the tables, is there any reason I should NOT switch the column name 'customer_id' to 'accountcode' in the voicemail table? Does Asterisk

Voicemail with NFS (working, I think)
I'm using a stand-alone VM server and exporting the VM files ro for MWI function only. All my registration servers mount the remote NFS share just to check MWI, all read-write functions to the VM files occur on the VM server only. On the registration servers, I mounted the remote VM share with this in my fstab.conf: 10.10.14.124:/var/spool/asterisk/voicemail /mnt/vmserver nfs

Bus error, Asterisk crash when user leaves a message (ODBC voicemail)
Hello list, My system behaves in an odd manner, and I can't find why. When users leave a message on the voicemail, once the message is recorded and the user hangs up, Asterisk crashes. I can't figure out when it started to behave like this. Here is the extract of the dialplan where it occurs : exten => s,1,Answer() exten => s,n,Playback(radiom-misenrelation) exten =>

Voicemail group, adding to the vm when forwarding
Hi, I have two questions about asterisk's vm: Is there a way to do group voicemail in asterisk? I can't seem to find any references on this. What we have with the current phone system is the user can dial a group mailbox number, leave a voice mail, then every one in the group gets a copy of the voicemail. One way I can think of doing is using AGI, once the voice mail is left for the

Playing a message if my call lands in their voicemail
Hi All, My client makes manual sales calls to prospects. He is often sent to voicemail on the prospect's side. If he finds himself having to leave a message, he would like to be able to press a key and let a pre-recorded message play into the prospect's vmail box. This is so he can maintain consistency in his message. Can anyone offer suggestions of how I could accomplish this
