I'm just curious if I was to place my * box behind a a FW/NAT box running linux, if my SIP calls will still work. Box right now is a RH9 computer using iptables as the FW. I'm trying to get the total Linux/* installation size as small as possible. I'm wondering if anyone has looked at the installed packages list from the Redhat installation [rpm -qa] and has parsed out all packages not needed for * to run. I follow the custom install guide from Andy Powell but the installation yields 948+ Meg with 340 installed packages. I'm sure most of those packages

Thanks to ww and his patch on bug #104, I have successfully implemented Asterisk behind NAT without using STUN or anything crazy. It's quite straight forward. Until this gets tested enough and put into CVS, you will have to patch your chan_sip.c file to do this. I'm sure within the next few days this will get put merged into CVS if no one finds any problems. I tried this on chan_sip.c

I have an interesting problem now. I use asterisk to connect to both FWD and a sip provider here in sweden. suddenly, (i know my provider upgraded from a unknown SIP proxy to SER) Asterisk crashes when I try to make a call using this provider. FWD still works fine, and I can call directly towards the GW to POTS without any problems. But, as I call using my providers SER, Asterisk crashes.

Hi, I have a strange problem trying to update Asterik on one of my boxes. I have done the following: - delete all the old source files - download the new file using: cvs checkout zaptel zapata libpri asterisk - compiling the new source file using: make clean ; make install Everything is compiled fine, except.... when I stop and start Asterisk server, it is still the old CVS version:

Can anyone give me presise instructions on how to compile cdr_mysql.so? When I initially installed asterisk on the system, I didn't have mysql installed. Since then I have installed mysql, created the database and table structure for cdr_mysql and placed the appropriate settings in the cdr_mysql.conf file. However when I do a show modules at the CLI I cannot find cdr_mysql.so.

Is there a way to configure voicemail to do reminder paging? I would like to configure some voicemail boxes to send an e-mail message to a pager every 10 minutes until the message is retrieved.

In taking a cursory browse at Vonage's site today, I noticed they are now offering a soft phone. Has anyone had any experience using this? And does this possibly open new opportunities for using Vonage with Asterisk? Just thinking outloud on the list, soliciting thoughts and experiences from others. AJ
