How to hide the file name listings, but still see the stats?
I'm using rsync 2.6.6 to transfer some directories with the following invocation rsync -az --delete --ignore-errors --stats -e rsh I would expect to get ONLY the --stats output from this invocation. If I add one or more -v flags, I would expect to see the files listed. However, the files (and the deleted files) appear no matter what. If I add -q, I don't see the files, but I don't

Directory matching for hidden directories
I'm seeing the following behavior: - lib/ Excludes any directory named lib - .hidden/ Appears to be ignored; .hidden and all sub-folders are transferred/deleted - .hidden** Excludes any directory named .hidden. From my reading of the "FILTER RULES" section, I would expect the last two options to be equivalent. Note that I'm doing this all with -n; I haven't done the

Write list problem
I upgrade my Debian Samba packages from 3.0.14a-1 to 3.0.23c-1. I experienced 2 problems, one was that certain shares were locking users out who were listed in the "Valid users" parameter, but not all shares were doing this. I ran across a post that advised changing the parameter to "users" alone, omitting "valid" This fixed it, but I'm not sure why. WHen did

[EXT] [Glusterusers] Using glusterfs for virtual machines with qco
Hi Gilberto, hi all, thanks a lot for all your answers. At first I changed both settings mentioned below and first test look good. Before changing the settings I was able to crash a new installed VM every time after a fresh installation by producing much i/o, e.g. when installing Libre Office. This always resulted in corrupt files inside the VM, but researching the qcow2 file with the

trash can feature, crashed???
All, I currently have 2 bricks running Gluster 3.10.1. This is a Centos installation. On Friday last week, I enabled the trashcan feature on one of my volumes: gluster volume set date01 features.trash on I also limited the max file size to 500MB: gluster volume set data01 features.trash-max-filesize 500MB 3 hours after that I enabled this, this specific gluster volume went down: [2017-06-16

unable to connect with virt-v2v to VMWare
Hi, I am trying to import and convert some VMWare guests from a VMWare cluster with vCenter version 6, to a KVM (oVirt) host. The KVM node (RHEL 7.2) has virt-v2v 1.28.1, though I've also tried using Fedora 23 which has 1.32.4. The details are: vCenter server: nssesxi-mgmt Datacenter name: North Sutton Street esxi server which runs the VM: nssesxi-mgmt04 folder name: Systems VM name: wvm2

No subject
Hi, I don't know if this will help, but I had a problem a while back where my NT4.0 (SP3) Workstation was able to see my Linux box, but when I tried to browse, I get network errors. If I removed one of the shares on the Linux box, the NT box could browse it. Eventually I figured out that if I removed all the COMMENTS, I could have more shares. My guess is that the NT box was having some sort

Enabling Halo sets volume RO
I think the problem here is by default the quorum is playing around here, to get rid of this you can change quorum type as fixed and the value as 2 , or you can disable the quorum. Enabling Halo sets volume RO
Hi all, I'm taking a stab at deploying a storage cluster to explore the Halo AFR feature and running into some trouble. In GCE, I have 4 instances, each with one 10gb brick. 2 instances are in the US and the other 2 are in Asia (with the hope that it will drive up latency sufficiently). The bricks make up a Replica-4 volume. Before I enable halo, I can mount to volume and r/w files. The

Using glusterfs for virtual machines with qcow2 images
Chris: Whilst I don't know what is the issue nor the root cause of your issue with using GlusterFS with Proxmox, but I am going to guess that you might already know that Proxmox "natively" supports Ceph, which the Wikipedia article for it says that it is a distributed object storage system. Maybe that might work better with Proxmox? Hope this helps. Sorry that I wasn't able

[EXT] [Glusterusers] Using glusterfs for virtual machines with qco
We use qcow2 with libvirt based kvm on many small clusters and have found it to be exremely reliable though maybe not the fastest, though some of that is most of our storage is SATA SSDs in a software RAID1 config for each brick. What problems are you running into? You just mention 'problems' -wk On 6/1/23 8:42 AM, Christian Schoepplein wrote: > Hi, > > we'd like to use

When i set client/server.event-threads as small values etc 2, it works ok. But if set client/server.event-threads as big values etc 32, the netconnects will always become un-available during the test, with following error messages in stree
