Winbind, still unreliable
Hi there, I recently posted about problems with winbind resolving names from ADS. We have an ADS Domain Controller serving the domain MED-DUS and an NT 4 PDC serving the domain MEDOIL. We want to use a samba server as memberserver in the MED-DUS domain. I joined the samba server to the MED-DUS domain. The domain join worked ok. All users (including MEDOIL) are visible. Next i started winbind.

Frequent crashes - drives me nuts .....
Hi, i've already setup lots of samba boxes. Mostly large servers as PDC's or as domain members in large networks. No real problems far. A friend asked me to update a small network (3 Win 98 boxes and two Win 2000 boxes) from samba 2.0.6 on an ancient version of linux to samba on suse 8.2. The Win98 boxes use a login script to get their shares mounted the Win 2000 boxes have their shares

Crash using alsa
Hi, i have compiled astersik using todays cvs. Worked like a charm. Asterisk runs when the oss module is enabled but crashes badly with alsa. Weird samba problems .....
Hi, some days ago i sent a mail regarding a small samba installation with periodically dying nmbds. Since the customer didn't call again regarding these problems I had the opinion that everything is fine .... Today the customer called and mentioned that there are additional problems. He had fixed the nmbd problem everyday by rebooting .... :-) Now the smbds also start to die. Again no

Weird samba problems / more info
I have a level 10 debug of the smbd/oplock process_local_message problem but can still not figure out what causes the unknown UDP message command code. I checked the source but could only see that this is an invalid opcode command. Anyone a clue what is happening here ? Might wrong opcode commands crash samba ? Samba & CUPS: only banner-page gets printed
In my setup I'm running Samba 3.0.23d-19.2 and CUPS 1.2.7-12.1. Printing from a windows-client works fine, until I instruct CUPS to add a banner-page. The banner-page then is the only thing that gets printed. Doing the same from Linux everything works fine. I get my job including a banner-page. The Windows-printjob is passed raw from Samba to CUPS... Anyone has an idea? Best, Johannes

get_share_modes problem
I have samba 2.0.5a running on Openserver 5.0.5 with the latest patches installed. I got this specific version from Skunkware (SCO's distribution of Open Source binary packages). AFAIK, they make no changes to the actual source. I have no problems with using samba for name service and printing, however with file sharing I am having some strange problems. I sporadically get problems like

[LLVMdev] TableGen target description file change
This is just a note for people who have targets that are not in the main LLVM tree. I just checked in a patch (contributed by Jason Eckhardt) that makes the following changes: 1. The 'Register' tablegen class now requires a register name to be specified as an argument for the register. If you had this: def FP0 : Register; before, change it to: def FP0 :

Appending <tr>''s to Table - Images in <tr>''s loading slowly.
While working on an application, I have run into an interesting problem for which I have no solution at this moment, hence writing to this forum. Basically, I am working on an email application that requires me to fetch data from the backend using AJAX and then I use dom to append the results dynamically to the mail display table. So far so good. So, I call a function getTableData() at the end

RE: Appending <tr>''s to Table - Images in<tr>''sloading slowly.
I tried the same thing Ryan - tried preloading the images using javascript once and then using CSS (heights of desperate behavior ;) But no Luck! But, IE is misbehaving in this respect. The application behaves fine once loaded. But, each refresh sucks! Only if I knew why this was happening ... :) Thanks anyway, Mandy.

Thanks Jerod for your help. I had already tried checking my cache settings and that was set to automatically. But, that didn''t fix this bug. Now, the URL that you sent really captures my problem well :) And what you just pointed seems interesting - I have absolute references to the images because of some reason (as designed by some developers). Now, if you are saying that IE would

rails running very slowly on apache (with fcgi or without)
Was wondering if there is anything obvious I may have missed in my setup that would cause it to run so slowly. WEBrick runs blazingly fast in comparison, in dev mode, so I''m sure there''s something off. Even in production mode requests take about 4 or 5 secs. Thanks! Win XP Apache 2 Rails 1.0 -rich

virsh responds slowly
Dear all, I have observed the virsh responds slowly with "virsh list" and used "strace virsh list" will find that it is waiting on the socket. I also use "netstat |grep libvirt" and see an opened socket /var/run/libvirt-sock-ro is always on and will not disappear. Is it caused by an abnormal termination of virsh API? Otherwise, if there is any possible issue? I have
