Marketing Digium/Asterisk
The benefits of * are obvious so that part of the marketing an * solution is easy. Anybody care to share ideas on how to target companies who would benefit most from */Digium? It seems to me that it would be an easy sell to small/medium companies who need advanced features such as ip trunking, IVR, Conference bridging, etc., etc. I would like to find a way to identify multi-location companies

pingtel phones
Hello all, Hope I am not too of topic here - but it cross's the phone/asterisk boundary. I have been playing with a few soft phones - noticed that pingtel seemed to be highly recommended across previous postings. I have been using xten - which is a great phone but seems a bit limited in its functionality - which is why I am now looking at pingtel. Problem is I cannot get it to

Best Analog sets for use w/*
Hi All, I am considering testing out some analog sets with * for a customer and thought I would ask what analog phones are in use? The customer would require the usual business functionality ie hold, conference calling, and preferably a soft key to vm and line apearances(correct terminology?) in order for secretary to see if their boss is on the phone before transferring a call, etc. I would

Any way to get out of a remote console without stopping *
This probably has an easy solution, but I found it yet. How can I get out of a remote console after using ssh to get into the box, making changes, reload etc. without stopping *? Thanks in advance. Sincerely, Andy Hester Consero

Pingtel softphones, SIP proxies: experiences/summary
In the past two days, I've been experimenting with the Pingtel SIP softphones and Asterisk, which one of my customers has been using. A few notes: 1) The "insecure=1" setting in SIP peers now works, from my limited experiments. Mark put this in for SIP servers that don't send requests in with a return port of 5060. This flag essentially takes any request inbound _to_ port

asterisk and pingtel
Hello All, I have pingtel and asterisk working really well. I have a really annoying little problem - mainly with pingtel. When a call comes in pingtel displays the caller ID on the phone. If I miss it then I click on the number for redial - this doesn't include a 9 to dial an outside line. The second problem is with the dialer from outlook again it bypasses the outlook dialing rules so

Pingtel applications
I just bought a Pingtel Xpressa from VoipSupply for use with Asterisk. I know that Pingtel has sold off their hardphone line and discontinued support for their phones, but I'd like to track down a few of the Java applications that they distributed before they went away, specifically their LDAP Phonebook app. Does anyone have a copy that they could send me? It was publicly

Help! Problems talking to upstream switch
Hi, Please let me know if you have any ideas - I am taking wild guesses now.... Here is the situation: I put in Asterisk for a local customer. I have Fractional T-1 with 12 Voice & 12 Data. I have a T100P hooked up to a TDM Card (they call it a chanel bank although it only has 2 outputs) in a CAC unit. The unit also has a router card that runs the data side. My extensions are all SIP

Please point me in the right direction as to where to increase the length of time I am sending DTMF tones on my T100P. I can't remember where/how I set it last time, and I need to do a fresh install. I'd sure appreciate it :) Sincerely, Andy Hester Consero (817)375-1244 (817)937-7977

Jittery meetme conference using Linksys 942 phones
We have two Linksys 942 phones which sound great when they call each other directly through Asterisk. But when they both dial in to a meetme conference room, the sound is very jittery. Other phones like Polycom 501 and Snom 360 sound fine when using meetme. Both Linksys phones are set to use the default g711u (ulaw) codecs. Adjusting the jitter buffer and jitter level settings to various values

conference and wifi phones
Hi guys, I'm looking for a affordable conference phone and a wifi phone that has a cradle. Polycom seems to make pretty nice conf phones but the price is a bit crazy for us. I saw the recommendation with ATA plus an analog Polycom phone but I do prefer a SIP phone. All because it's just too difficult to pull a phone cable into the current conference room. Is there any cheaper SIP

SIP Conference phones
Greetings list, Does anyone have experience with SIP conference phones? I need to source a couple for a client, but I'm not really familiar with the market - i.e. what's available, what's decent quality, etc.. A cursory googling has led me to the Polycom Soundpoint IP4000 at around the ?450 mark - any thoughts on this? If anyone knows a good Polycom wholesaler in the UK, I'd be

Offering an Asterisk Documentation and FAQ Portal
Hi, I have resources available to host a portal specifically for the Asterisk system, to help correlate documentation, FAQ's and How To I am new to Asterisk, and my hardest work is in locating information on using or configuring the software. Would Mark, John or any of you feel this would be of benefit to host? I am offering a PHP-NUKE portal for this, (Unless you know of a better

MOH and conference calls
I'm having some problems with Meetme2 and MOH. Here's what I've done, not sure if it's correct. I added the following line to extensions_additional.conf exten => 3000,1,MeetMe2 And I added conference rooms to Meetme_additional.conf conf => 8005 conf => 8006 conf => 8007 If I dial directly into my conference room by dialing 8005, I get "you are currently the

Unable to transfer external calls to MeetMe conference
I have a peculiar situation, and am hoping someone on the list can offer assistance. I am running CVS HEAD, and am using ITSPs for DIDs. The server has no Zap hardware, but is configured to use ztdummy. All incoming calls are via IAX2. Calls ring to SIP phones, voice mail, IVR, etc., with no trouble. I am also able to transfer calls among my SIP devices, voice mail, IVR, etc. All of my SIP
