Two soundcards. Use both with wine. Problem
Hi, I have an integrated soundcard and I have just bought a new sound card to play UltraStar (open source karaoke) in the 2-players mode. This game is know to work fine with wine and the last time (three years ago?) that I did this, it worked without special configuration. But it was an older version of wine, ubuntu and ultrastar and now it seems not to work. The problem is that in the

Conexant fax/modem not faxing with sendfax
I finally picked up a "real" modem (not a winmodem) and put it in my machine. I pulled down the hsfmodem driver from the source, got a license and installed the driver at full power. If I use wvdial, I can get out through the modem, so I know that works. However, sendfax is rejecting the fax capability (from /var/log/sendfax.log): 11/30 00:31:52 sendfax: interim release 1.1.33-Apr10

Instant Client: Connecting Oracle and Mac
Hi, I am having a terrible time installing Instant Client to connect my Mac and an Oracle db. I am using the following instructions: http://www.foliosus.com/2007/11/19/connecting-ruby-on-rails-to-oracle-on-an-intel-mac-in-leopard-mac-osx-105/?css=Banksia All goes seemingly well until the Compile the ruby-oci8 library section. ruby setup.rb config returns the following error message:

Delays estimation in Speex algorithms
JM, I also need to know the precise delays from Speex but I used the SPEEX_GET_LOOKAHEAD control requests to determine them (plus the "speex_resampler_get_output_latency" function from the resampler). The returned values from the Speex lookahead request don't seem to match with the values you gave Alexander. Am I doing this wrong? Thanks, John Ridges speex-dev-request at

Anyone using ffmpeg as a source-client?
I'm just wondering if ffmpeg is a reliable Icecast source-client -- a "pusher" to send a stream to an Icecast server and runs 24/7/365 dependably. -- That Jack Elliott (541) 848 7021 KPOV 88.9 FM High Desert Community radio Host, The Sunday Classics On 8/27/2019 10:58 AM, Alejandro wrote: > When you say as Source Client, means like listener? > > i'm using for push

fixed point speex on a texas dsp + real time acquizition
hello, My project is to implemente an audio compression algorhitm on a DSP TMS320DM642. I think that SPEEX can be a good choice because fixed-point have been developed. I would want to know how I can choose the fixed point in the program I want to know if it is possible to do a real time acquizition and to compresse in real time the audio input signal. By example, I have on my demonstration card

running speex on C5505, anybody tested the quality of voice?
Hi, I am working on a project which intends to enable voice communication over zigbee. As the handset node, I am using TI's C5505 ezDSP USB stick. I want to run speex encoder on it. After encode, I intend to send it over CC2520 radio to the backend zigbee network. The C5505 ezDSP has input and output for AIC3204 codec which I am using to give sampled input from laptop (lineout) and playback

Delays estimation in Speex algorithms
Speex tells me that the decoder is always 5 ms, but it says that the encoder is 5 ms for NB, 8.9375 ms for WB, and 10.90625 ms for UWB. Is there an extra frame of delay in the encoder that isn't otherwise accounted for? audio recorder compatibility
I'm shopping for a small/tiny audio recorder, the kind for recording in a class, interviews, etc... not really music, just voice. Per usual, a lot of these write their audio files in some Windows format, e.g., WMA. As a confirmed Linux guy, I'd want to offload the audio files in some format that Linux can read/play natively. I've read a sketchy suggestion that there's a Linux

Check out if there is another application using /dev/dsp. Especially if you have Mandrake and KDE, because Mandrake set up artd (a sound server for KDE) by default. You should also check out the permissions for /dev/dsp. The user who is trying to run liveice (or whatever) must be allowed to open /dev/dsp. I hope It Help you. <p> --- Luis Gallardo. I have seen this behavour with my mixice streaming program too if the channels are turned down or if the line input is not set for "record". Using "aumix" or "mixer" can find out how they are set and can be used to adjust them.
