Problem with SSHD update.
This morning I applied the 13 or so new updates to my servers. On
one of them the ssh service and clients stopped working immediately
after the update. I restarted the server in anticipation that there
might be some instability introduced by updating on a system with
active ssh connections. However, this has not cleared the problem.
The packages in question are:

mismatch in openssh latest rpm available at centos
Hello Group,
The latest rpm in openssh is 5.8, however, the corresponding latest rpm
available in centos 5.7 is only
openssh-4.3p2-72.el5_6.3.x86_64.rpm
and
in 6.0 centos is
openssh-5.3p1-20.el6.x86_64.rpm
I have following questions.
1. I want to start from src.rpm and where can I get the src.rpm for
openssh-5.3p1-20.el6.x86_64.rpm.
2. Can I install openssh-5.3p1-20.el6.x86_64.rpm SAFELY

System Clock Offset in b129 dom0
Since upgrading to b129, I''ve noticed that my system clock is ahead by
five hours, exactly how much I am behind UTC (US Eastern Time). The
strange thing is it only happens when I have xen enabled. If I ''svcadm
disable milestone/xvm; reboot'' the clock is correct again. If I correct
the time manually, ntp knocks it right back ahead again. Oddly enough,
even ntp knows

bug in repo affecting perl
I seem to running into the following bug when attempting to perform a
yum update: http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=5322
I have been skipping perl to move on. However, I am unable to update
perl to the latest i386 release due to what appears to be a mistake in
the centOS repo.

OpenSSH and stdin/stdout assigning
Hey, guys, I have a question about a difference between openssh 4.3 and 5.3.
I have plenty of servers with RHEL5 and RHEL6.
Most of RHEL5 servers have openssh-server version 4.3p2-72.el5_6.3
(kernel 2.6.39-100.7.1uek)
And RHEL6 servers have 5.3p1-111.el6 (kernel 3.8.13-35.el6uek.x86_64)
So there is the difference in assigning stdin and stdout for ssh
connections. Openssh 4.3 assigns socket (I

Build one VM with two 5.7 DVD iso
Hello Group,
I am trying to build one VMware VM for 5.7 centos. However, there are two
DVDs. And all vms I have build so far are confined in one iso.
How could I build complete 5.7 centos VM with two different Centos DVDs.
I am sure somebody out there must have built one such OS.
Please guild.
thanks.

Need to build openssh rpm from 5.8 source
Hello Openssh group,
I have downloaded the .tar.gz file from openssh site openssh-5.8p2. I need
to build this src into an rpm. I don?t see any makefile utility in the
main directory. Although there are bunch of .c and .h files. And I see
Makefile in other directory, but none seems to build the openssh-5.8p2
target.
Could someone guide me as to how to build it from scratch.

libvirt security update CVE-2011-1146
Hello,
I have seen that package libvirt-0.8.2-15.el5_6.3 on CentOS 5.6 which
addresses CVE-2011-1146
<https://www.redhat.com/security/data/cve/CVE-2011-1146.html> vulnerability
is not yet available while for example it is on Scientific Linux.
Is there any particular reason why the above rpm update is still not
available on mirrors ?
thank you

OpenSSH and stdin/stdout assigning
> Yes, in that we changed the compile time default at some point between those two because pipes have better close semantics for what sshd wants to do.
Thanks for quick reply, appreciate it.
> That sounds a bit silly. Which daemons?
At least python-daemon lib.
Look here for functions is_process_started_by_superserver() and

Hot upgrade from 5.2 Centos to 5.7 Centos
Hello Group,
I am installed some application running on top of Centos 5.2 OS and these
applications are running fine. However, we are thinking of upgrading our
5.2 Centos to 5.7 (hot upgrade). That is we want to upgrade from 5.2 Centos
to 5.7 Centos and not disturb the applications.
Is it possible? Could someone please help.

harddisk partition not created right with centos 5.7
Hello Group,
I am building a company application based on Centos 5.7 OS. The
application was working earlier and creating right partitions both for
hardware as well as VM.
But since we introduced Centos 5.7 OS and start building application with
5.7 anaconda the hardware partitions are duplicate of VM partitions

I shall refer to as /usr/local/X
Ive put the scripts in a tarball under /home/me/X/RPM/SOURCES
