question on "cp -f" on centos 5.1
When I issue the command cp -af --reply=yes * ../other it tells me --reply is deprecated and use -i or -f. when I remove the --reply=yes I have to indicate 'y' to every file being copied. I just want to copy every file in my current directory to another directory and overwrite any file that is there. What is the correct way to do that? Jerry

Firefox error msg.
After my / disk seemed to be failing and found many files disappeared, I decided to remove it. I moved my other disk to it's place. Long story omitted. After installing my backup of /home and seeing firefox not restart, I started it from the command line with the immediate error: Could not find compatible GRE between version 1.9.0.5 and 1.9.0.5. I'm sorry, I'm at a complete loss.

Anyone seeing mock breakage after updating to 4.4?
Morning, somehow the upgrade to 4.4 broke mock on my system: | [angenenr at shutdown SPECS]$mock -r c3-i386 /home/angenenr/redhat/SRPMS/apache-ssl-2.8.28-2el4.src.rpm | init | clean | prep | This may take a while | Could not find useradd in chroot, maybe the install failed? CentOS 4 install problems
Hi folks, Has anyone experienced install problems with CentOS 4. More precisely anaconda crashing with some remarks regarding python scripts. The funny thing is the first installation went well. It's the re-install that fails. Although I completely changed partitioning and reformatted the drive. I had the same problem with fedora core 3 some time ago. To me it looks as if it's

2.4 kernel on CentOS 4.1
Just wondering if anyone is running a 2.4 kernel with CentOS 4.1? I need to "downgrade" for compatability with a disk driver, and from experience I know this can be a HUGE problem with certain other distros...
