trouble with library(FEAR) and libgfortran.so.1
Running R version 2.13.1 under Ubuntu 10.10 (kernel version 2.6.35-30-generic) on a x86-64 laptop with gfortran 4.4, I'm trying to install and use the FEAR package from http://www.clemson.edu/economics/faculty/wilson/Software/FEAR/fear.html. I downloaded the the FEAR 1.15 package for 64-bit Linux (compatible with R-2.12.0 compiled with GCC, GNU Fortran 4.1.2, Linux kernel 2.6.16.60 SMP) to the

glmnet with binary predictors
Hi Everybody! I must start with a declaration that I am a sparse user of R. I am creating a credit scorecard using a dataset which has a variable depicting actual credit history (good/bad) and 41 other variables of yes/no type. The procedure I am asked to follow is to use a penalized logistic procedure for variable selection. I have located the package "glmnet" which gives the complete

How to make 'step' faster?
Dear all, I am fairly new to R. I would like to perform a step-wise logit regression aiming to select a model on the basis of AIC. I am using some large datasets (up to a million rows and 97 variables). It is taking the 'step' function just too long to complete a single routine. Now, I have tried subsetting the data and perform the same thing. But, 'step' is time consuming still.

Cannot install broom package
Hello, I've problems installing several packages in my R on Fedora 27 64 bit. I found out that it has to do something with a missing compiler (libgfortran.so.3, see below). It works if I downgrade the current version of libgfortran to the specified version by downloading libgfortran-6.2.1-2.fc25.x86_64.rpm and manually installing it. However, I don't want to mess up my system,

(PR#14226) -- Re: libgfortran misplaced in Mac OS X R install (PR#14226)
I am the guy who compiles the OpenMx binaries. We would be delighted to place our package on CRAN, once the project is stable enough so that we are comfortable releasing it to the larger public. Let's try to track down where I made a mistake. Our Makevars.in file contains the line: PKG_LIBS=$(FLIBS) $(BLAS_LIBS) $(LAPACK_LIBS) In addition, on the build machine I noticed that a copy of

R hangs on the stats.so library
Dear all, I having this problem on my laptop. It was caused by my clumsy attempts to upgrade the system. As I wrote here, (http://www.mail-archive.com/r-sig-debian at r-project.org/msg01364.html) I was trying to solve the same problem with JAGS/rjags on my laptop. After typing R in a terminal I'm currently get the following: > R version 2.9.0 (2009-04-17) > Copyright (C) 2009 The R

KernSmooth not loading in R 2.7.2
I just upgraded to R 2.7.2 (from 2.7.1) this morning (Ubuntu amd64 platform). Shortly afterwards, I ran into a problem loading the odesolve library, it could not find libRblas.so. I was able to fix this by rebuilding odesolve. Now, KernSmooth gives me the same problem... R> library(KernSmooth) Error in dyn.load(file, DLLpath = DLLpath, ...) : unable to load shared library

Trouble compiling igraph. . .
Been and R-user for about 5 years now in an industrial setting, and always find the mailing list most helpful. I have run into problem compiling igraph on R. I have contacted the maintainer of igraph, and he has determined that it is not an igraph problem. System is FreeBSD 7.2, R-2.10.1 [also have a sandbox machine running FreeBSD 7.3, R-2.11]. Both machines fail the installation of igraph.

Receive "unable to load shared object RNetCDF.o" during R INSTALL of RNetCDF
On a Red Hat Linux cluster I am seeing the following after multiple other packages were successfully installed. The error seems to suggest that RNetCDF.o was not copied to the appropriate lib folder. The admin user performing the install has the required privileges to perform the install. Words of wisdom are greatly appreciated: R CMD INSTALL

[LLVMdev] llvm-gfortran problems
Hmm.. I didn't explain the problem completely last time. I am creating a drop-in replacement for gcc and gfortran that runs an additional pass on the bitcode before generating the native binary. Here's whats happening: If the source code compilation process builds a static library (.a archive file), I need a means to link the `.a' file statically into the application. So if the

Packfor library-problem downloading
Hello, I'm a new user to R, and I was trying to install "packfor" in my R console and I always run into an error. I tried to search, in in the forum, someone that already might have made the same question, but all I could find was a general information how to install libraries in R. Pass through all that procedure (Package&Data->Package Installer->Local Source
