Version 0.7 of package tsDyn, nonlinear time series
Hi Version 0.7 of package tsDyn presented at useR! 2009 is now on CRAN, extended with several new features. The package tsDyn is aimed at estimating nonlinear time series models which exhibit regime specific properties. The regime switching dynamics can either be described by smooth transition (STAR and LSTAR) or threshold effects (SETAR). The package furthermore offers nonlinear models

MLE for estimating the parameters of the TVECM in R
Dear Mr. Matthieu Stigler i so excited for your package 'tsDyn'. firstly introduce myself, i student at Gadjah Mada University,Indonesia. i'am new user of R and applying it for solving Bi-Variate ( interest rate and inflation ) with threshold vector error correction model. now, i writing my final examination about threshold vector error correction model and i use refference from paper

Threshold vector error correction models
Hi, is anyone aware of estimation functions for threshold vector error correction / threshold cointegration models? I didn't find anything for R using RSeek or Google. Thanks a lot for any pointers, Werner __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? hutz gegen Massenmails. http://mail.yahoo.com

Help to write to a file
Dear all: I am having some problems to use the function "sink()". Basically I am doing a loop over two files which contain unit-root variables. Then on a loop, I extract every i element of both files to create an object called z. If z meets some requirements, then I perform a unit root test (ADF test), otherwise not. As this process is repeated several times, for each i I want to get

Quadprog help
I am having some problems using Quadprog in R. I want to minimize the objective function : 200*P1-1/2*10*P1^2+100*P2-1/2*5*P2^2+160*P3-1/2*8*P3^2+50*P4-1/2*10*P4^2+50*P 5-1/2*20*P5^2+50*P6-1/2*10*P6^2, Subject to a set of constrains including not only the variables P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, P6, but also the variables X1, X2,X3,X4,X5,X6,X7,X8,X9. As the set of variables X's are not

Complaints about text size setting
I just ran across a nice little summary of problems with Ubuntu from somebody who set up a machine for an older friend a while ago, and has been maintaining it ever since. http://web.oesterchat.com/2008/12/30/was-alles-schief-geht-wenn-man-ubuntu-vorfuehren-will/ English robotranslation:

Reading a specific column of a csv file in a loop
Dear all: I have two larges files with 2000 columns. For each file I am performing a loop to extract the "i"th element of each file and create a data frame with both "i"th elements in order to perform further analysis. I am not extracting all the "i"th elements but only certain which I am indicating on a vector called "d". See an example of my code below

Problemas con la funcion "apply"
Buenos dias!

Hola, Soy nuevo manejando R y no tengo mucha experiencia.

[RFC] llvm-diva - Debug Information Visual Analyzer
llvm-diva - Debug Information Visual Analyzer Carlos Alberto Enciso, Sony Interactive Entertainment LLVM supports multiple debug information formats (namely DWARF and CodeView) in different binary formats (e.g. ELF, PDB, Mach-O). Understanding the mappings between source code and debug information can be complex, and it's a problem we've commonly encountered when triaging debug

p-values pvclust maximum distance measure
Hi, I am new to clustering and was wondering why pvclust using "maximum" as distance measure nearly always results in p-values above 95%. I wrote an example programme which demonstrates this effect. I uploaded a PDF showing the results Here is the code which produces the PDF file: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- s <-

tsDyn and RTisean packages on CRAN
Dear R users, I've just uploaded 2 packages on CRAN, RTisean and tsDyn, both for time series analysis (joint research projects with members of the Statistics Department, University of Udine). Brief descriptions follow. RTisean is an R interface to TISEAN executables (http://www.mpipks-dresden.mpg.de/~tisean/). TISEAN is a suite of C and Fortran routines for nonlinear time series analysis,

pkg/tests: how to run them with --vanilla
Hello I recently submitted an update of a package, and received error reports from CRAN maintainers concerning the pkg/tests section: > Next time you update, can you please ensure that the .Rout.save files > are generated in English (with LANGUAGE=en set). loops & sampling
Hi, I'm new to R (and statistics) and my boss has thrown me in the deep-end with the following task: We want to evaluate the impact that sampling size has on our ability to create a robust model, or evaluate how robust the model is to sample size for the purpose of cross-validation i.e. in our current project we have collected a series of independent data at 250 locations, from which
