Does either version 1.2 or 1.4 support UIDPLUS?
My ISP currently runs version 1.2 and I'm looking to make use of UIDPLUS because I want to append and then move the message I've just appended to another folder so then I need the UID in order to address the new message. My ISP says they have plans to upgrade to version 1.4 soon. Do either of these versions support UIDPLUS? ie. give me the new UID as the response to an append?

ACLs and public folders
Dear list, I am using dovecot 1.0.15 on Debian Lenny. I have a public folder, I use ACL / vfile (without public ACL), and I use maildir / vmail. Now I have two questions: 1) http://wiki.dovecot.org/ACL states: "Mailboxes in public namespaces don't have owners, so by default no-one can access them." The same document, when explaining the meaning of the k flag in the ACLs, states:

Hallo. Sorry for may bad english. I'm running dovecot 1.0.15 on a debian lenny system. I've set quota plugin and, under section plugin, I've set: quota = maildir quota_rule = *:storage=50M quota_rule2 = Trash:storage=10%% quota_warning = storage=95%% /usr/local/bin/quota-warning.sh 95 quota_warning2 = storage=80%% /usr/local/bin/quota-warning.sh 80. For some accounts the quota limit

body search very slow since upgrade from 1.0.15 to 1.2.10
Did you mislead me Timo? You said search in 1.1+ is faster than 1.0. I'm seeing approximately 20x *slower* search times in 1.2.10. Via Thunderbird, a full body search of my 11,000+ message IMAP folder hosted by 1.0.15 used to take less than 10 seconds. Since upgrading to 1.2.10 the search is taking over 3 minutes, the imap process servicing the client pegging one CPU at 100% for the

Maildir with INBOX and other folders at same level
Hello- I have set up Dovecot before and feel fairly comfortable with it but am having some issues with a new setup and have not been able to find a solution via Google or the list archives. I use offlineiimap to sync an IMAP account with an email provider. After the sync is complete, my ~/Maildir is set up with a folder called INBOX (with cur, new, tmp inside) and all my other folders set up at

The 'dbox' Format
I'd like to give the dbox format a try, but I could not find any information on how to enable it. There's information on how to set mail_location for the Maildir and mbox formats in the wiki and also in the commented configuration file, but how to set it for dbox is strangely missing. I took a guess with 'mail_location = dbox:~/dbox', but that didn't work, so it's probably

Dovecot and ACL
Hello, I try to get per-mailbox-ACLs on dovecot. So, I've modded dovecot.conf: protocol imap { mail_plugins = acl } and plugin { acl = vfile } When I telnet to dovecot an try the command "capability" there is nothing about acl. I need acl for "open-xchange" so I can share Mailboxes over the webinterface. Do I have to create the acl-file manually or does dovecot

With 1.0.15 my configuration I a single dovecot-auth process, which is what I want now. Since upgrading to 1.2.10 I have two such processes: root 16992 16990 0 Feb15 ? 00:00:00 dovecot-auth root 16997 16990 0 Feb15 ? 00:00:00 dovecot-auth -w I can't seem to tweak dovecot.conf to get this down to one auth process again. I've tried setting each of these below to 0,

Logging subjects of messages
Dear Sirs, I want to know if there is any possibility to log the subjects of the messages downloaded from ther server. We use dovecot 1.0.15 with POP3S and IMAP and we want to keep a trace of the reading of messages by the users of our mail server (who, when and what are the subjects of the? e-mail messages read) because some users complain that they did not read some messages but in the logs of

v1.1 plans
I think I won't do any actual releases until it's mostly feature complete. Then maybe v1.1.alpha1 or v1.1.beta1. So if you want to test it before then, use CVS or the nightly snapshots. I'm planning on keeping v1.1 almost completely compatible with v1.0. There could be some minor configuration file changes, but for most people v1.0's dovecot.conf should work with v1.1. I want to

How to override append method for related attribute?
I have a model that looks something like this: class Person < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :tasks [...] end I''d like to override/overload the append (<<) method for the tasks relational attribute such that I can perform some error checking in the context of a Person.tasks << task operation. Is there any way to do this? I wish I could do this in the context of

One fs with quota, one without: incorrect data shown
Hello all, I'm using Dovecot 1.0.15 on a Solaris 10. There are two different FS in place for IMAP: /var/mail for inbox /export/home for the mail folders The first doesn't have quota, the second does. However, I've noticed that Thunderbird does display quota information on the inbox (that doesn't make any sense, the values are incorrect). The same incorrect values are shown for

Leading 0 on caller ID with internal S0 (HFC)
Hi all, I have a problem: On my internal S0 where phones are connected via HFC I get all the number with a leading 0 (either from internal SIP phones or external dialins via CAPI). I don't know where to look for this 0. Any ideas? Greetings, Sven -- Sven Fischer (Dipl.-Phys.) - FACIT Consulting GmbH Hausinger Str. 6 - 40764 Langenfeld Tel: 02173/16700-55 Fax: 02173/16700-60
