seeking help with with()
I tried to define a function like:
fnx <- function(x, by.vars=Month)
print(by(x, by.vars, summary))
But this doesn't work (does not find x$Month; unlike other functions,
such as
subset(), the INDICES argument to "by" does not look for variables in
dataset
x. Is fully documented, but I forget every time). So I tried using
"with":
fnxx <- function(x, by.vars=Month)

Multiple Maildirs per Virtual User
How would it be possible to configure dovecot (2.0.16) in such a way
that it would serve several maildirs (e.g., INBOX, INBOX.Drafts,
INBOX.Sent, forum_email, [Gmail].Trash, etc.) per virtual user?
I am only able to specify a single maildir, but I want all maildirs in
/home/my-username/mail/account1/ to be served.
e.g., /etc/dovecot/passwd:

Updating Squirrelmail-i18n dependency
Because of a folder display problem caused by certain character encodings used
in some email headers we had previously updated to squirrelmail-1.4.6-1 and
installed squirrelmail-i18n-1.4.6-1 to cope. Yum is now trying to update our
installation with the latest offical Centos release but there does not seem to
be a corresponding squirrelmail-i18n rpm available in any of the repositories
which is

dovecot and squirrelmail
Is anyone using squirrelmail with dovecot? After a few minor tweaks
squirrelmail seems to work great, but I can't seem to get rid of the
"./" folder.
SquirrelMail implements some workaround hacks for specific IMAP server
quirks. The default setting is:
$imap_server_type = 'uw';
What settings do you folks use?

squirrelmail doesn't display share
Hello list,
I have dovecot 2.0.11 installed on a client's server and Squirrelmail as
the webmail client. I created the share below in dovecot.conf and it
appears in Thunderbird and Outlook but not in Squirrelmail.
What setting do I need to adjust in order for the share to appear in
squirrelmail?
Below are dumps of /etc/dovecot.conf and /etc/squirrelmail/local_config.conf
# dovecot -n

Dovecot, Squirrelmail and KMail
I just installed Dovecot and squirrelmail to read my email when I'm away from
home. I subscribed to all the folders in my mail directory but I can't
actually see any email. Is this a dovecot issue or a squirrelmail issue?
I'm running KMail from KDE 3.1.2 and use Debian (Testing) on a Digital Alpha
and installed both squirrelmail and dovecot using apt-get. I had to set

Problems using Squirrelmail / Dovecot / Sendmail / Fedora Core 6 - ERROR: Connection dropped by IMAP server
Hello
I just installed Fedora Core 6 and I'm having problems
with SquirrelMail. I'm using
Squirrelmail/Dovecot/Sendmail and when I log into
Squirrelmail and try to view any folder that contains
any messages I get:
ERROR: Connection dropped by IMAP server.
Query: SORT (ARRIVAL) ISO-8859-1 ALL
Now, I've tried to disable server side sorting in
Squirrelmail but that only leads to a

Squirrelmail and Dovecot folder namespace
I am currently using Squirrelmail and Dovecot with this setting:
default_mail_env = mbox:%h/mail/:INBOX=%h/mail/INBOX
It works well, however folder subscriptions in Squirrelmail annoyingly
end up with "./" prefixes because Squirrelmail refuses to work without
overriding the folder namespace. All of my other IMAP clients work fine
without setting that option.

Hi all,
I am new to dovecot and squirrelmail and I am trying to configure squirrelmail with dovecot as its imap server. When i disable "Secure Imap (TLS)" option (2-A-7) from squirrelmail configure menu, it's working fine. But when i try to enable tls support, squirrelmail is giving the following error:

This is likely to be an Apache rewrite problem and not, as was

SquirrelMail Prefs Deleted
FYI. I just had all of the squirrelmail prefs for all the users on one
of my servers disappear. I have never had anything like this happen ever
before. I'm in the process of finding the needle in the haystack of logs
to try to get a handle on this. I'm sending this to the list as a heads
up. Seems like Squirrelmail is not doing so good here over the last few
months.

Slow squirrelmail login/IMAP CPU 80%
I've been having a problem with Dovecot on Fedora Core 2 with
SquirrelMail on the same system.
When ever I login through SquirrelMail the imap process consumes around
80% of my CPU and the login takes forever (about 10 minutes). 1
Once I do manage to login, everything is fine and can even log out and
back in without issue.
Has anyone encountered this?
Thanks,
Nelson

Received Dates/Squirrelmail
I am trying to figure out an issue I have with the e-mails in my inbox
showing up in Squirrelmail. I sometimes get (more often than I care for
it to happen) e-mails which show up as new either many hours ago or days
ago. I have one particular e-mail that in Squirrelmail is showing a data
of Tue, 8:23PM.
The received header of that e-mail shows:
