imap sent-mail folder sometimes dosen't get updated when used by more than a mailer at the same time.
Hi, I'm collecting users feedback of latest dovecot 1.1.rc3 development release. Some users are complaining that their sent mails sometimes don't get written to imap Sent-mail folder. It seems that all these users were using multiple istances of imap processes to read their mail (thunderbird+horde-imp, evolution+horde-imp or multiple thunderbird istances). No error message is written in

Imap sent folder sometimes dosen't get updated in dovecot-1.1-rc3(+some current hg patches)
Yes, again, some sent emails don't get copied to sent folder. This time I get the following error: Error: IMAP(username): UIDs broken with partial sync in mbox file /maildir/username/Sent This happened at least with thunderbird and with evolution. Dovecot is running on vith fcntl locking on Centos5, sendmail should use fcntl, too. Filesystem is ext3 on drbd partition. After a grep vith

Corrupt mbox folders after migration from uw-imap
After migrating our mail server from uw-imap to dovecot at the weekend we've had a few corrupted mbox folders. I assume this is due to messages with bad Content-length headers. Is there any way of checking the Content-length of messages in mbox folders? Thanks -- Ian

Why my Evolution cannot delete emails in dovecot IMAP folder?
I use Ubuntu Hardy, get mails locally and run dovecot listening on localhost. I run Evolution and have it connect to dovecot, so that I can access my mail in IMAP and be able to use mutt from remote. So far so good. It works. However, my problem is that Evolution cannot delete any messages. That is, when I click DELETE in Evolution, Evolution no longer sees the message , but the message is still

Visible temp files as Imap Folder in INBOX
Hi all, I'm using dovecot-1.2.15 and NFS as storage of Maildir . When I try over IMAP and Evolution to move a mail to another Imap Folder, a file like .nfs000000000159816c0000245 is created and when move operation is finished, the file is deleted. Sometimes, this file isn't deleted and then, you can see a new imap folder called .nfs000000000159816c0000245 when you restart your Evolution

Messages not saved to my "Sent" folder
Hello, Using Dovecot 2.2.27 1. Had an issue where my Sent box, "disappeared." I used to be present, but then it was just gone. I went in and changed the /etc/dovecot/conf.d/15-mailboxes.conf the auto=subscribe feature had disappeared, even though I had added that line at setup. Below is the new changes. # For \Sent mailboxes there are two widely used names. We'll mark both of ?

mbox empty messages in Sent folder
I'm talking about mbox Sent folder, where some mailers append through imap server a copy of each message they send. Sometimes, just three header lines got appended instead of the whole mail message, such as: >From xxxxxxxx at xxxxxx.xxxxxx.xxxxx.xx.xx Fri May 23 12:30:14 2008 X-UID: 2852 Status: RO This happened in the past (dovecot-1.1-beta/rc with Evolution and with Thunderbird), and

imap errors filtering folders with evolution
Hello, I posted earlier to the Ximian Evolution Users list. It was suggested I follow up in relation to dovecot. They also indicated the timestamp in the error message was coming from dovecot. When filtering a folder on a dovecot (0.99.10) imap server with Evolution version 1.46 I receive: Error while 'Filtering Folder' Imap command failed internal error [YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS] The

extra IMAP folders: how to make all clients use the same Sent folder?
Dear All I have just setup IMAP with Maildir, but unfortunately some clients create their own folders instead of using those specified in 15-mailboxes.conf . What could be the reason? Here's what it looks like: > B list "" * > * LIST (\HasNoChildren \Sent) "." "Sent Messages" > * LIST (\HasNoChildren) "." Gesendet > * LIST (\HasNoChildren)

best practice to have sent mail folder on dovecot imap server
I've already asked this here: http://serverfault.com/questions/533940/best-practice-to-have-sent-mail- folder-on-dovecot-imap-server Hi, when I add a mail account to KMail (or most other MUA I suppose) the sent mail folder is on the local machine and I don't have my sent mails on other machines. I'd like to have a sent mail folder in IMAP and I thought that there would already

imap problems; error accessing inbox and some other folders
Hello all, First off, please let me apologize for cross posting this in both the fedora and centos lists. I have just run into a problem with imap that's becoming a real issue. About two or three days ago some of the mail folders became unusable/unreadable. For instance, my inbox shows 41 unread messages when I access it through pine on the server. But if I imap into it from

dovecot IMAP misserving problem?
http://togami.com/~warren/archive/2003/evolution-1.4.4-crash.mbox I suspect that dovecot-0.99.10 is misserving this message in some way that is confusing some IMAP clients. This behavior causes evolution-1.4.4 to segfault, and squirrelmail-1.4.1 to be unable to read the message. The same message served by uw-imapd works works fine in both evolution and squirrelmail.

Evolution: always a 90-second delay
I'm trying to use Evolution on the latest CentOS 7. Whenever I try to receive or send mail, there's always a 90-second delay before the connection works. Since the delay is always exactly 90 seconds, I think I may be waiting for something to time out. Perhaps this is a clue. My address is user at example.com. I have to log in to pop.example.com or imap.example.com as user, not as user at

Evolution 3.8.5 imap iCloud will not connect
There is a problem in Evolution 3.8.5 due to changes icloud made to their servers. It disallows imap connections due to authentication issues. The following link to gnome.org indicates that a patch is available for Evolution 3.10 (the problem does not occur in 3.12). https://mail.gnome.org/archives/evolution-list/2014-October/msg00113.html Milan suggests "Ask your distribution to use the

C5 beta version of Evolution always send mail in HTML
People testing the CentOS 5 (4.92) public beta should be aware of the Evolution bug that sends all mail in HTML format regardless of the user's selection: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=218607 http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=1759 The upstream EL5 evolution-2.8.0-33.el5 fixes this problem and several others, so the C5 fix should be forthcoming soon. case (non-)sensitivity for folder names
Is IMAP supposed to be case sensitive or case in-sensitive? It seemed it would be case sensitive because I've had different cases of folders. But today I found I had two folders "Spam" and "spam", with directories ".INBOX.Spam" and ".INBOX.spam" on the server. Messages existed in each directory on the server and they were different. The messages
