dovecot SASL as auth backend to exim?
hi, i'm running dovecot branch_10 cvs on OSX 10.4.7 w/ exim 4.63. i'd like to use Dovecot's SASL as an auth backend to exim, instead of Cyrus-SASL. @ dovecot's sasl page: http://wiki.dovecot.org/Sasl i know there's a patch against exim 4.43: http://www.exim.org/eximwiki/AuthenticatedSmtpUsingDovecot that, purportedly, enables EXIM to use dovecot's SASL as an

Exim4 authentication patch
Hello all, attached patch makes possible to use dovecot as an authentication backend for Exim 4. Reasons beyond this patch are simple: exim's authenticators require use of plaintext passwords and NTLM code in exim is quite outdated and hairy. Patch generated against Exim 4.43, but should apply to earlier versions too. Patch adds new 'dovecot' authenticator, which can be used as such:

Windows refusing samba server
Hi George, my machines are coming back since I've rebooted the machine. Some others don't. Because there is an unspecified interval of time between dying and reviving machines, I am sure it's a kerberos issue. But I don't have any idea where this error is located. I hope the machines are all coming back to productivity and stay at this point. My samba is running as a domain

Broken auth-* sockets.
Hello. I am migrating my servers to Ubuntu and have been having an issue with Dovecot authenticator service. Samba as user authenticator for Windows systems
Hi Everyone: I am checking to see if there is a way to use Samba as a password server. specifically, I want the following: when someone who is logged on using windows 2000/xp/98 and changes their Win2000/xp/98 password, it also changes the password on Samba/Linux automatically. Any ideas/suggestions? I think that if I use the Samba server as a PDC and have the Windows clients login to the

Job postings are officially OK
Hi all, I just wanted to follow up on Digant''s job posting. We''re still a pretty small community, and one of the big things that defines us as a community is that we''re all pretty consistently committed to this idea of using tools to make our lives easier. I think it makes a lot of sense to attempt to look for both jobs and employees within the community, as

Apps that officially support Wine?
http://www.cockos.com/reaper/ is the home page for an app that officially supports Wine; it says "Requires Windows 98/ME/NT/2k/XP/Vista/WINE" Anyone know of other such apps? Do we already have a list of them somewhere? If we don't, maybe we should start one on the wiki page. It would be kind of neat to watch that list grow. - Dan

Why doesn't Asterisk project document certain important features of Asterisk officially?
Hi Everyone, I am wondering why documentation of some of the vital parts of Asterisk is hosted on voipinfo.org (unreliable is some parts) and not on asterisk.org? For example the list of AMI events are not well documented and one has to guess which version supports which event. The documentation file for AMI for Asterisk 1.4 is really only a startup guide and it doesn't even provide a full

How to rebuild the Centos 6.4 iso images with the same contents as officially released iso images ?
I have read many Centos webpages and mail archives but found only raw descriptions of the build process. My first aim is to rebuild CentOS-6.4-x86_64-LiveCD.iso using the Centos repositories and preferably without recompiling the SRPMs, just to verify the build process. My final aim is to create a Centos LiveOS contain the packages in CentOS-6.4-x86_64-minimal.iso plus some network configuration

When will Puppet officially support Ruby 1.9.2+
Hello everyone, Ruby 1.8.7 is EOS now. So, when will Puppet become Ruby 1.9.2+ compatible? I am considering to deploy Puppet on a large hosts of servers. If Ruby 1.9.2 cannot be supported, I have to turn to Chef. Best regards, Tetsu -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Puppet Users" group. [LLVMdev] [RFC] When can libc++ "officially" support linux?
Hi All, Currently libc++ does not list linux as a supported platform. This should change. I think we should be able to list linux (with libc++abi) as a supported configuration. but there are some issues I would like to see resolved first. 1. We should add CMake support for building libc++ against a static libc++abi. If libc++ is linked to a shared libc++abi the resulting library can only be used
