test49 "killed with signal 6" errors...
I upgraded yesterday from 1.0test46 to 1.0test49 in an attempt to eliminate an error that a couple of my users were getting. Both users were using Thunderbird 0.6 over imaps, and were getting errors that said: "The current command didn't succeed. The mail server responded: Error in IMAP command UID: Invalid Body [..] Parameter: Missing '>'in'<14336-13057>'.

Unable to compile dovecot with Solaris 9 and Forte C
Just a "heads up". I tried to search mailinglist archives and wiki, but found no similar configurations. Dovecot is unbuildable with the following configuration: SunOS mail 5.9 Generic_112233-08 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V210 cc: Forte Developer 7 C 5.4 2002/03/09 config.log output from ./configure is at: http://iso.ego.fi/misc/dovecot_1.0-test50.log I guess I'll have to bend

Subscription not immediately reflected
Hello, ? I noticed that somewhere between 2.2.22 and 2.2.25 the workings of subscriptions seem to have changed. In version 2.2.25, when a client subscribes to a folder, and then does an LSUB command, it will not see that subscribed folder. If you retry the LSUB command, the change is there. Same with unsubscribes. In version 2.2.22 I did not see this weird behavior. ? John

Problems with thunderbird
I'm running dovecot-1.0-test50 on openbsd 3.4 and it's working great, exept with thunderbird. Everything works fine with squirrelmail. The instant i log in with thunderbird the imap process goes up to 100% cpu, and instantly goes back down to 0 when i log out. I configured dovecot with the following arguments: --with-vpopmail --with-storages=maildir --without-passwd

I can't reproduce this. Can you send your doveconf -n output and also an example IMAP session showing what goes wrong? I tested with Maildir and mdbox, and with and without mailbox_list_index=yes: x lsub "" * * LSUB () "/" INBOX x OK Lsub completed (0.000 + 0.000 secs). x subscribe Trash x OK Subscribe completed (0.000 + 0.000 secs). x lsub "" * * LSUB ()

subsets problem
Help with this much appreciated I have a large dataframe that I would like to subset where the constraint Test1 <- subset(df, date == uniques[[1]]), where uniques is a list of dates that must be matched to create Test1. I would like to perform an operation on Test1 that results in a single column of data. So far so good. How do loop through all values in the uniques list (say

[PATCH] Fix on Cyrus SASL support for Rel 0.99.11
Code which supports cyrus SASL library (src/auth/mech-cyrus-sasl2.c) is broken. Following is the workaround patch for Dovecot Rel 0.99.11, and it worked fine on FreeBSD 4.10 BOX. It will not work with current development version. Application for that version might not be so difficult. Recently I found the CVS log which appeals that cyrus SASL support is discontinued. It's very sad. Regards

1.0-test51
http://dovecot.org/test/ This release is built with autoconf 2.59 and libtool 1.9. We'll see how it works out :) The required changes were done by Matthias Andree. - The last fix for connection hanging made IDLE use 100% CPU - We don't use Maildir/.INBOX/ directory anymore, indexes are stored in Maildir-root - Don't crash with FETCH BODY[n.MIME] - Changed %p (protocol)

IMAP subscribe/unsubscribe broken in 0.99.10.2
IMAP subscribe/unsubscribe is broken in 0.99.10.2 (and earlier releases), specifically subsfile_set_subscribed(), where the logic is all wrong. I tried just copying over the latest subscription-file.c but it has dependencies on some file locking/dotlocking stuff that 0.99.10.2 doesn't have. Timo, would it be possible to incorporate the latest subscription-file.c into 0.99.10.3 (whenever

I was able to find some time to debug this more, and I found the change that breaks it was introduced in 2.2.25: If I revert 18856082d632ac60996637547098688148826b5a from release-2.2.25 branch, the test works again. procmail, mutt, and Mac OS X
Hi, I'm using procmail to deliver my mail to my maildir boxes, that are watched by dovecot, and I configured mutt to use imap to access these boxes. After installing a more recent procmail (the default one from Apple has a bug with "/" in the filenames, so I used the one from Fink), I sent myself a message, which was delivered correctly to Maildir/.INBOK/new (I can see the

entourage + dovecot bug?
I have dovecot set up to run IMAP services without SSL (I have tested many other configurations as well, but this reproduces the problem the simplest). When attempting to connect to the imap server using Entourage for OS X on a mac, I receive the following error: Mail could not be received at this time. The server returned the following error . Dovecot reports a successful login and nothing

installing dovecot on Mac OS X
Hi, I'm trying to install dovecot on Mac OS X, and I'm having trouble to make it run. If someone could point me to what I'm doing wrong or suggest some documentation to read, I'd be very glad (I've search the wiki for Mac OS X specific documentation, but could not find any). I installed dovecot using darwinports. The version installed is 0.99.10.5. (It's running well

I'm running 1.0-test49 on Solaris 2.8. MUA is Thunderbird (or mutt) running on FreeBSD. I'm using Maildir boxes. namespace and folders
Using mbox format and this namespace namespace { inbox = yes hidden = yes prefix = INBOX/ } [Though I've also tried, seemingly, a million different namespace options to "fix" my problem.] It's a migrated setup from a 1.x dovecot install from Ubuntu 12.04, now on 16.04 The problem is in TBird [I haven't tested with any other mail clients] and IMAP; with that
