dovecot: Fatal: IMAP(user2): write(event_pipe) failed: Bad file descriptor
Hello.
Since I upgraded few months ago from version 1.0 to 1.1 (right now
using v1.1.rc4) in logs for some users only (but in different servers) I
noticed errors:
dovecot: Fatal: IMAP(user2): write(event_pipe) failed: Bad file descriptor
dovecot: Fatal: IMAP(user3): write(event_pipe) failed: Bad file descriptor
So only for some imap users. And in different servers. And this error happens

test49 Authenticate PLAIN disabled stops pop3s
Unlike test47, test49 refuses to authenticate pop3s
if disable_plaintext_auth = yes
Checked the crypto with: snort -vde tcp port 995
The connection is being made with ssl so it looks like
the plaintext auth preventer is broken.

1.0-test47
http://dovecot.org/test/
Been a while since last release. Still seems there are some mbox
problems, but I haven't been able to break anything for last few days.
I guess it's stable enough. At least more stable than test46 which
crashed quite often when expunging.
- pretty much rewrote "index extension" support. it's now possible to
add extensions to headers and to

I get this error with some messages in my inbox:
The current command did not succeed. The mailserver responded: Error in

The <102400.-100124> at the end depends on the message.

Oplocks
Hello,
I'm using the Samba server 3.0.33 that exports volume from a GPFS. The GPFS
strongly dislikes unlinking files that are locked (resulting in permission
denied) using fcntl F_SETLEASE.
It seems that the Samba *sometimes* tries to unlink a file that is oplocked.
Why? Is this a bug? Why it does not happen always but only sometimes? I have
strace logs showing:

OT: z-Push
Hi,
just a short question:
I have installed and configured z-Push to use BackendIMAP. On my iPhone I have created an account and I can see my mails. Also sending works. So far so good. Now the question:
When I create a new folder i.e. Test under the root (/), then I get an error. And after resyncing the folder has been created not under /, but under /0/Test.
Also I can not remove that folder

Testing COI
Hi,
I am playing around with the COI plugin and try to get things working.
I followed the Dovecot docs and also got the source from Github (dovecot/coi).
I have compiled and installed coi successfully.
IMAP seems to be fine, but LMTP has some errors in the logs, so I removed imap_coi for the moment:

2.2.8a with kernel-2.4.22 has kernel oplock problems (NOT Failed to setup RT_SIGNAL_LEASE handler)
I have a samba problem on a redhat 9 box that appears to be clearly linked to a new kernel
2.4.22nptl when using "kernel oplocks = yes".
I am trying to install a printer driver on a win98se box that tries loading the driver files from a
share on the 2.2.8a server. The installation fails as win98se cannot read all the files as it would
like to.
I have two things I can do to avoid the

Getting the last day of the month.
Hi,
Given a date, how do I get the last date of that month? I have
data in the form YYYYMM, that I've read as a date using
> x$Date <-
as.Date(ISOdate(substr(x$YearEnd,1,4),substr(x$YearEnd,5,6),1))
But this gives the first day of the month. To get the last day of the
month, I tried
> as.Date(as.yearmon(x$Date,frac=0))
But I don't get the last day of the month here. (Tried

Conditional Sums for Index creation
Hi,
Apologies for the long mail. I have a data.frame with columns of
price/mcap data for a portfolio of stocks, and the date. To get the
total value of the portfolio on a daily basis, I calculate rowSums of
the data.frame.

Submission and TLS client certificate
Hi,
is there some configuration parameter in Dovecot, which sends a TLS client certificate to the SMTP server? I would need this to have XCLIENT enabled and TLS with Postfix. This way I could permit sending based on the certificates fingerprint.
Thanks in advance

Adding extra fields from an external source
Hi,
I have an existing (Open)LDAP which I'm using with dovecot and I would
like to implement quotas. I have global quotas working, but I would like
per user quotas similar to what is described in the wiki
(http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Quota/Configuration#LDAP) My problem is that
there is no obvious attribute in the schemas shipped in the RHEL/Centos
6 to hold the quota string.
Is it possible to

The specified network name is no longer available 3.0.25 RHEL4
I have a reproducible intermittent error large site - "The specified network name is no longer available".
This happens when copying large files. Below is part of log level 10 output & strace. Sorry for the long posting. I will probably need to put the loglevel 10 attached to a bugzilla - but thought I would try the lists initially.

Zaptel HZ Warning
Anyone else get this while compiling zaptel? I'm guessing I have to modify my kernel. Neato. :(
Does that mean that the zaptel module (I'm really after ztdummy), or this xpp_zap thing won't be usable...?
Not that I have zaptel hardware, but it seems Asterisk won't compile itself without zaptel being installed.

Hello,
One of my user open a file (located on a SAMBA server) in its
application, and when he tries to save it, he gets a "share violation"
error. (other people have this problem too).
This error happens since I upgraded the SAMBA server from 3.0.14a to

This release is built with autoconf 2.59 and libtool 1.9. We'll see how
it works out :) The required changes were done by Matthias Andree.
- The last fix for connection hanging made IDLE use 100% CPU
- We don't use Maildir/.INBOX/ directory anymore, indexes are stored
in Maildir-root
- Don't crash with FETCH BODY[n.MIME]
- Changed %p (protocol)
