Lineair regression modelling between time series //correlation analysis
Dear R specialists,
I'm working with time series and want to investigate the relationship
between two time series by correlation analysis or by fitting a gen.
lineair model to the plot of x(timeserie1) and y(timeserie2).
Lin1 <- data.frame(
Nr = c(1:lengte),
NDII = window(ts.mNDII,c(1998,10),c(2003,11)),
InvERC = window(Inv.ERC,c(1998,10),c(2003,11))

legend/text in time series plot
hi,
i need help on placing legend/text in a time series plot. here is what
i am doing (i am using rw1022 on windoze 2000):
#read data file
gdpn <- scan("jngdpsa.dat", list(year=0, qtr=0, gdp=0));
gdpr <- scan("jrgdpsa.dat", list(year=0, qtr=0, gdp=0));
#convert to time series object
gdpn <- ts(gdpn$gdp, frequency=4, start=c(1955,2));

Plotting hourly time-series data loaded from file using plot.ts
Hello everyone,
I am just a tyro in R and would like your kindly help for some
problems which I've been struggling for a while but still in vain.
I have a time-series file (with some missing value ) which looks like

ylab in time series plot (PR#2869)
You get a warning message when you specify a ylab parameter while
plotting data whose x's are POSIXct values. Apparently the
`axis.POSIXct' method tries to reset the ylab---via the ...
parameter---after it has already been set by higher level methods.
Here is a function that illustrates the problem.
ylabProblem <- function() {
x <- ISOdate(2003, 4, 1:10) # POSIXct

plotting large time series
hello,
I got a problem with plotting large time series, since I want to store
the results in a .PDF file (I want to store several pages of plots). The
PDF files get too large to be handled (> 10MB, one was even 200MB big).
So I wonder, if there would be a possibilty to either
- reduce the file size of the PDF
- change the way the plot is generated to reduce the plot size?

plot and lines with time series data
Dear all,
I am doing some time series analysis with R now. The problem is, when
I create a time series object using "ts" function, then after fitting
the model, the predicted values cannot be plotted with "ts" object
together using "lines". ie.
ts.series<-ts(x,start, end)
plot(ts.series)
lines(predict(fit.model))
This doesn't work.
Does anyone know about

Problems plotting a sparse time series in R
Hi guys,
I am logging data about my body (weight, body fat, blood pressure, ..)
in a .csv file and would like to plot this as a time series. I uploaded
the (noisified) .csv, you can see the link in the code I have so far
(you can run the code directly as-is):
df.raw <-
read.csv("http://www.chaotic-neutral.de/temp/stats-noised.csv", sep=";",
dec=".")

Adding a polygon to a time series plot
Preamble: Sorry for being dense.
Now that that's done, here are my questions.
I want to put a polygon on a plot of a time series. I'm going to add lines
from a smooth.spline interpolation and other annotation to it. But here's
the general idea:
# Start code
n <- 121
dat <- rnorm(n)
plot(dat, type="n")
polygon(c(1:n,n:1), c(dat,c(rep(0,n))), col =

Plotting two 3-dimensional time series in a 3 x 2 plot - alternatives to par(mfrow())
I am trying to plot two 3-dimensional time series in one window (such that there will be 3 rows and 2 columns). For zoo and ts objects the par(mfrow...) option does not work. I can get xyplot to make the plots, but data are on widely different scales in the three dimensions, and xyplot uses the same scale on all y-axis which means that in some dimensions the curves will be almost horizontal lines.

Beginner's question about plotting variables in a time series object with the date on the x axis
Dear R helpers,
I am a beginner at R so please be gentle :)
I have already read manuals and FAQs, with no help.
I have a monthly time series data on public debt with 40 variables, it starts on January 1994 and ends on June 2011.
I am loading the data into R using read.csv and the data looks ok when I do edit(dados):

Comparison of two time series using R
We have two time series: the first is a series of weekly counts of
isolates of RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) by pathology laboratories,
and the second is a series of weekly counts of cases of bronchiolitis in
young children presenting to hospital emergency departments.
Bronchiolitis in young children is usually caused by RSV infection, and
simple visual inspection reveals a very close

"Time Series Plotting"
Hi
keep your emails to R help, I do not offer private consultance and others could have different opinion how to solve your problem.
Did you even try my suggestion? If not, why not? If yes in what respect it does not comply with your expectations.
Cheers
Petr

Help with Time Series Plot
Dear List,
This is an embarrassing question, but I can seem to make this work…How do I
change the font size on the xlab and on the numbers shown in the x-axis on
the time series plot below. The arguments cex.lab and cex.axis do not seem
to be 'passing' to the plot function.
plot(ts(rnorm(100), start=2004, freq=12),
ylab="RQI", xlab="My X lab",

Adding shading to background of Time series plot
Hello All,
Thank you in advance.
I have looked up and down in the archives to see if I could find some help
on moving the polygons to the background of a ts.plot. I've tried
panel.first in the gpars(...) arguments and trellis.focus, but I get
errors. Am I missing something easy here? Here is my script:
ts.plot(tsdjia, tstenyield, gpars = list(xlab = " ", ylab = " ",

changing the x axis labels in a time series plot
OK, this has to be simple but I've searched through help files, mailing
list archives and well, everything I could think of, and still no luck.
I simply want to change the x axis labels in a time series graph, from its
default numbering (which starts at 1 and increments by 1), to values I have
in another vector, "Year". It has to be a time series graph, I don't want
to have to

plotting time series
Hi List,
I have the following time series and i want to be able to plot it while having the x-axis running from 1998 to 2006 but in a bi-annual format
So here is my example:
x<-sample (10:100, 17)
x<-ts(x, start=c(1998,1), frequency=2)
plot(x)
When I plot the ts it goes from 1998 to 2006 by 2years, when in fact i want it to go from 1998 to 2006 with the following form:1998 may, 1998

Time series analysis with irregular time-series
Dear R users
I am currently investigating time series analysis using an irregular time series. Our study is looking at vegetation change in areas of alien vegetation growth after clearing events. The irregular time series is sourced from Landsat ETM+ data, over a six year period I have 38 scenes. For certain periods I have monthly data while for others, images are up to three months apart.
