Duplicating directory list: Samba, DFS, and XP
Samba 3.3.3
I've seen some relevant posts, but no answers.
Users on XP32 boxes will see duplicating directories inside of each
other when accessing a samba share through dfs. Not sure how to
recreate, but it happens regularly.
Problem does not occur when accessing share directly. Performance
does not seem affected. A reboot of XP will resolve the issue.

SQLite database file gets corrupted and XP goes blue
...uff
occurred at much earlier during the process.
Still, XP's Process Monitor shows steady increase in memory usage.
My XP has 3GB RAM. It seems that the screen goes blue when the usage
goes near 1GB.
The database file, when it is corrupted, has only 150MB. SQLite's max
db size is 2TB, XP32's max file size is 4GB. So, I'm well under the limits.
In the past, when an R process goes out of memory, it rather graceful
returned, like "Out of memory".
I have closed any other applications that accesses the database such as
SQLite Browser.
Any insight appreciated.

Question about .bs and .bss style bootsectors.
...ecently I've been happily experimenting with syslinux, replacing grub
and my old bootmanager. All works beautifully, but I have one question -
in case of .bss bootsectors - what exactly and under what circumstances
is patched in ?
With syslinux used as main bootmanager - bootsectors from xp64, xp32 and
[pre-syslinux] msdos 7.1 (98se) work perfectly fine when chainloaded
natively as .bs (and dos also as .bss).
PS.
By the way - there's another "trick" to make dos (at least microsoft
versions) to boot from another harddisk - if you set actual physical
drive number in its boots...

Learning and new - any distro ready to install several OSs from live CD?
...ntend for games and some
exclusive applications.
This is a good time to develop this kind of distribution, becouse there
are a lot of people with dual installations of XP/Vista and
Tiger/Leopard becouse some programs doesn''t work well in new OSs, and
even there are some that has XP64/XP32/Vista64/Vista32 becouse of better
performance for dfferent tasks or for testing their programs. If they
can convert with an easy tool their switching rebooting and menu based
with VT XEN this kind of distribution of XEN will grow as much as even
PC vendors would include it as default system(s)...

PoD, 4.2, and current/maximum reservation
A user has pointed out a problem with GPLPV under Xen 4.2 when using PoD. I''m using the difference between XENMEM_maximum_reservation and XENMEM_current_reservation to tell me how much I should balloon down to account for PoD, but when the user has ballooned down to 1G (from 4Gb or 8GB), GPLPV logs the following:
13005008825593: XenPCI XENMEM_maximum_reservation = 262400
