Hi there, I'm pushing a directory tree from a samba server with notificytion via fileschanged (FAM) to a webserver for procession images into an image-database. These files have to be rw by wwwrun on the receiver. If the receiver woul pull the files, the script could chmod after transfer, but how can the sender do a chown/chmod on the receivers side? Hi group, I am managing an NFS mount with puppet. And it does not work, and seriously I really don''t see how this can work out nicely. First I make sure with a file {} class that the directory I want to mount exists. Cause it is used by the webserver it should belong to the wwwrun/www group on the system. No prob. Then I mount the NFS share on the dir. No prob. On the 2nd run of puppet though ... Error! The NFS mount point is "changed" over to root:root with 775 permissions (or 777? I don''t remember). ...an Apache web server for our intranet. The samba shares are linked by a symbolic link into the directory structure underneath of 'htdocs'. If the web content points to a file on the share we get a 'permission denied' message from Apache. Maybe it's because Apache runs as 'wwwrun' which is no Samba user.
