file). I can open the printer from the W2K side of things and install
the required printer driver. When I go to submit a test page, nothing is
spooled to the print queue on the server. No job is spooled to the
document queue on the Windows platform. And I get the follwing errors in
the log.<windows_client> log file:
Apr 19 17:06:00 clyde smbd[2959]: badmonkey (192.168.2.101) couldn't

Can't print with CUPS using samba's printer share
...I still haven't put the automatic driver download, but will do that when
the printing works.
So, I make add printer, no problems to connect to it. I put the local
driver on it, looks ok.
Then I start to send a test page on the printer, and nothing happens..
I can just see in /var/log/samba/log.windows_client that it can't find lpq
(probably to list current tasks), and it can't find lpr too:
sh: lpq: command not found
sh: lpr: command not found
Note: I don't have any LPR installed. just CUPS.
The manual says samba should not need lpr if using cups, so I don't know
if it helps.
