Destroying device model, Xen 4 Windows 2008 domU problem.
Hello, I am using Xen 4 with Debian Squeeze and  trying to virtualize a Windows 2008 Server machine. I''ve followed these instructions: http://alex.mordue.co.uk/blog/?p=85 But once i do:  xm create windows2008.cfg The domU tries to start but then dies in few seconds with these errors: in xend.log: [2011-06-18 14:28:04 2254] INFO (XendDomain:1206) Domain windows2008 (28) unpaused. virsh define function question
Hi, How do I view the libvirt virsh domxml-to-native function implementation? I think this function contains some error. Because we use libvirt to manage some host and vms on vmware hypervisor. We use openenbula generate a template for libvirt ,such as my attachment windows2008.xml. but when i use domxml-to-native to convert xml file to vmware config file vmx as below. This may not be accurate. For example: 1. guestOs type : could I config this parameter in xml file ,so after domxml-to-native to vmware.vmx , guestOS in my vmx file is "windows7srv-64 ". And al...

windows 2003 can not login with samba 4.6.4
Hi, We have upgrade samba from 3.6.23-36 to 4.6.4, but we got "*Logon Failure Unknown user name or bad password*" error while trying to access samba form window 2003. And we use usename and password to login, not by the AD. We also test on windows2008 windows2008-R2 window7 windows10, it works. Thanks. Lifeng Ren

Samba4 and idmap_ad
Hello everyone, I have a - maybe only cosmetical - problem. I am currently configuring two SLES servers running Samba4 as member servers in a Windows2008/2012-AD. (Yeah, poor us!) Everything went fine: installing the samba packages, getting Kerberos running, and joining the AD. But when I use id or wbinfo now to get user information I get lots of groups which cannot be mapped a GID and thus are displayed as -1 or 4294967295: id DOMAIN\\USER uid=361...

getent passwd shows old name for renamed user
Hi, I renamed user 'foo' to 'bar' on my samba AD using an ADUC on a Windows2008 Server. Now on a samba member I see: # wbinfo -u .... bar # getent passwd .... foo:*:10001:10000:Some user:/home/bar:/bin/sh Home dir changed, but the a name is still old. What can I do to make getent show the new name? I am using winbind and ad backend, here is my smb.conf: [global] securi...

Oracle 11 nts authentication againts samba4 AD DC
Everytime I try to login using windows credentials to my db instance I get the error: ORA-12638: Credential retrieval failed. Looking at my alert log I find: ns main err code: 12638 which means the database is not able to connect the domain controller. The database connector makes use of NTLM protocol to authenticate. Is it supported by samba4 (4.1.16)? I'm unable to find any

Resolving Schema & Configuration Replication Issues
I have three S4 DCs (Sernet 4.5.2) all in happy replication, and a Windows 2008r2 DC to which the Exchange scema was added - it has failed to replication the schema/configuration ever since [yet consultants forged onwards]. It is possible to attempt to retry the replication somehow - we have since update the S4 DCs. Something like a "drs replicate --full-sync"?

managedsave results in unexpected shutdown from inside Windows
Hi, I'm facing a strange behaviour of windows 2008 guests. After a virsh managedsave and start, the windows guest open a "unexpected shutdown" window. The window looks like this one (randomly taken from the web): http://toastytech.com/guis/srv2k3login2.jpg This happens in all virtualized windows in a hypervisor. Has anyone else experienced such issue? Thanks, -- Nicolas

Oracle 11 nts authentication againts samba4 AD DC
...ize for my vague previous question. After some investigation I can be much more precise in my consult. Furthermore, I think I found a bug... Context: -Samba4 AD DC working fine with many user and machine accouns. -Windows7 client trying to connect via sqlplus to an oracle database residing in a Windows2008 server. Both machines are in the domain. -Server database is using Operating System Authentication, i.e. it relies on the client to authenticate the user connecting to the database. The user is a Domain User, therefore eventually authentication falls to the domain controller and kerberos. Error...

can I clone a runiung domU?
Hi all I''d like to know if it''s possible to clone a running domU. I need to make an exact copy of an existing CentOS xen domU, but without taking it offline. I''m using LVM, so I don''t know if it will help. I have tried doing it with dd, after shutting down the domU, but it takes ages. The LVM image is 30GB. I can''t really afford to have the
