PATCH: x86-64 support and SSE intrinscis code
It's not possible to use ia32/*.nasm code in 64-bit compiles. There's still no 64-bit asm code in FLAC. I'm not familiar with asm too, so I wrote SSE-accelerated code using intrinsics. This code uses two new preprocessor macros: FLAC__CPU_X86_64 (analogous to FLAC__CPU_IA32) and FLAC__HAS_X86INTRIN (analogous to FLAC__HAS_NASM) Patch for cpu.c/cpu.h adds CPU features (sse3, ssse3)

DOS to UNIX Conversion
On 17 May 99, Axel Neumann <amn@cromemco.com> had questions about DOS to UNIX Conversion: > It seems that a lot of people hate Windoze in such a way that they only > accept solutions that are not coming from M$. Maybe that's because the M$ "solutions" are crap, and much better alternatives already exist. > If you want to view UNIX text files correctly on a W9x

I've applied these patches, updated the configure script to detect the required features and then tweaked things slightly. The biggest of these tweaks weas to disable the intrinsics version fero FLAC__CPU_IA32 because I couldn't get this to compile on i386-linux (and we have the nasm versions). Still open to re-enabling this if someone can get it to work. Cheers, Erik -- --------------------...

...s in the same workgroup. Our network is subnetted here, so this poses the problem. If I understood what the book was explaining, then I should have a Samba server as a local browser in each subnet? Isn't a WINS server supposed to solve this? Index indexed words
Hello, We would like to create Google or Firefox like "search hints". If someone types "abc", the search system should name some possible hints. I think, Firefox does it by indexing 3-characters of the domain name. If you enter parts, you get some hints. Thank you very much Marcus

Permissions
Hi Group, I set up samba3.0 to work as ADS-Member-Server. I created a share called /test and chown group to gg_test to it. Access to share works without any problems. I also can add files and directories to this share. When I now make ln -l, the files I added got the group-permissions "Domain Users" and not gg_test, as I expected. Do someone know a solution? Thanks in advance.

...for Vines). I was looking at a printcap example and saw the rp=raw and rm=IPAddress options added. I am assuming that the rm is the remote printers IP address and it wants the data as raw. Any ideas or examples would greatly be appreciated. Thanks. Regards, Richard Jones NOS Administrator WEA Mfg. Olyphant, PA 18448 (717)383-3291 ext. 2381 Fax: (717)383-6837

Writing Hangup causes to CDR record

The message you are hearing is coming from your asterisk server, and it is because there was either no response to your call attempt or your call attempt weas refused by your VoIP provider. In the "no response" scenario it may be because you are strapped for bandwidth, but if you were THAT strapped you would have many additional problems, and the calls that were going through would have serious audio problems. So I would focus on the idea...

I forgot. Why do we hate* Java?
Hi, I''ve started reading some Java books. Gasp! What makes website development with Java so bad? I haven''t looked at Struts but I''m reading about Hibernate. Compared to ActiveRecord, Hibernate seems like some extra typing to explicitly define the model fields, getters and setters. I know that these are things that you can do in ActiveRecord when things get complicated

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list. I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without modifications. How did I try it? Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock ) Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee prep-out.log The build failed at the end: Processing files: kernel-xenU-devel-2.6.9-67.0.20.EL Checking
