Local root vulnerability in udev
I just saw this thread in the OLM forum. Possibly of interest, since
they say it includes CentOS 5, if the update hasn't been released yet.
Always good to keep boxes updated, for security and stability
reasons.

Improving asterisk documentation - sources and what the community can do
Hi All,
There have been a number of comments recently about a shortage of
documentation on Asterisk, so I wanted to cover briefly the documentation
options available and suggest what they are useful for and how they can be
improved...
Documentation sources:
http://www.asteriskdocs.org/
- Not much there at the moment, due to come back up with new content in
2009...
- Should be a good location for

Is it possible to get full callin number from E1?
Hi all
i have just set up a asterisk in china, using DE410P and one E1 line
and get a phone number like: +86 020 87654321 from my sp
when somebody dial +86 020 87654321 , the asterisk will get the call in number by ${EXTEN} variable, but it can only get 87654321, no area code .
when someone dial +86 020 87654321xxxx , xxxx means 4 digits, the phone can call in, and the

what requires lm_sensors?
I found that lm_sensors got installed because of a dependency on my first
Xen VM that I updated to 5.3. lm_sensors doesn't make sense in a VM. I
thought, ok let's check after the update who wants it. However:
rpm -q --whatrequires lm_sensors
no package requires lm_sensors
(same for --triggeredby with lm_sensors or the packages below)
Trying to remove lm_sensors reveals these packages:

Zap problems
Hi All,
I'm running Asterisk 1.4.22.1 on a CentOS 5 machine fitted with a
TDM400P. When I upgraded from Asterisk 1.2.12.1, Zap stopped working.
Doing "zap show channels" etc from the Asterisk CLI results in an
error saying there's no such command.
The machine has Zaptel 1.2.9.1, which I've tried to repair with make
clean, make linux26, then make install but to no avail so I

Firefox 3.0.8 released, but not showing up in mirrors?
Hello all,
Several days ago, I noticed Firefox 3.0.8 was released for i386,
but I haven't seen it on any of the mirrors. I know it can take a few days
for mirrors to sync, but I think it's been 5 days now. Anyone see this
package out there yet?

followme order field
Hello.
Does someone know what "order field" means in followme.conf? The Doku says:
number=> <number to call[&2nd #[&3rd #]]> [, <timeout value in seconds> [,
<order in follow-me>] ]
So an example would be:
number=> 123&124&125,10,?
It would be nice if someone could enlighten me.
cheers

cdr_mysql: Cannot connect to database server - SSL error: SSL_CTX_set_default_verify_paths failed
...once an hour, and
after the reload everything is fine again _for a while_. Still, over the
course of a month I lose about 12% of my CDRs this way. I guess I could
reload more often but would prefer a real fix, not a workaround. Anyone
got an idea?
Asterisk 11.25.0 built by mockbuild @ olive.ph.tucny.com on a x86_64
running Linux on 2016-11-23 22:17:54 UTC
Database is a Galera cluster: galera-3-25.3.19-2.el7.x86_64
Asterisk is writing to the local MySQL instance and there's SSL between
the Galera cluster nodes.
Thanks!

HP DL360 G5 better than HP DL360 G7 ?
Any tips on solving the following performance conundrum:
Asterisk 1.8.12.2 running on HP DL360 G5 and G7s
tcpdump running to capture UDP 5060/SIP signaling to .pcap files
All calls are ultimately B2BUA client -> asterisk -> PSTN
Media stays on Asterisk at all times
AGI script has exit handler that connects and updates an external
database upon BYE from either side.
I know that if exit

tg3 BCM5755 intermittantly stops working after upgrade to 5.3.
Dear All,
I am having a HP xw4400 with following ethernet controller
as reported by lspci
Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5755 Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express (rev 02)
This machine was running CentOS 5.2 without any problem. After
updating the machine with yum update on 8 April, after which it is showing
to be CentOS 5.3, this machine stops communicating

Odd SELinux messages during+after 5.3 upgrade (system_mail_t and postfix_postdrop_t access rpm_var_lib_t)
Hey guys,
I've been getting some strange selinux messages after the 5.3 upgrade.
It appears as though my mail system (postfix) is constantly trying to
access the rpm database? Here's the audit messages (I tend to look at
my selinux messages using audit2allow < /var/log/audit.log as I find
it easier to read quickly):
allow postfix_postdrop_t rpm_t:tcp_socket { read write };

2B Channel Transfer on XO-based T1
I'm trying to get "blind transfer" from an incoming DAHDI line to an
external number to work on an * 1.6 install using a T1 from XO. The
documentation is very "distributed" and incomplete, so while it's not
working, it's definitely more likely my error somehow. Couple questions if
anybody is out there who even knows what TBCT is.
1) Is this even
