No Trackpad tab in Mouse Preferences
I have CentOS 6.5 running on a iMac. I tried to set up a trackpad, but the Bluetooth utility said there was no bluetooth hardware. I rebooted in to the OS X side and verified that bluetooth was in the system and set up the trackpad. I then rebooted in to CentOS again and there was no Bluetooth icon in the panel for setting up BlueTooth devices, but I pressed th...

Centos on Dell XPS15
...ne year old), - the missing pageup/pagedown keys, mentioned by Patrick: I mapped my own keys to get them (fn+pageup/down), but this keyboard is really not done for devs or keyboard-intensive tasks even if the touch is nice (the arrow keys are too small, real pageup/down missing), - the trackpad is very big, forcing you to raise the hands when you type and even when you don't type. Gnome Mate settings set to disable it when typing but this doesn't work. Tried disabling the trackpad when a mouse is plugged in, doesn't work yet (I need to dig on this). Trackpad totall...

Intermittently unresponsive mouse
I am using the Mate desktop on CentOS 7 and have found that the mouse intermittently becomes unresponsive for a few seconds, typically no more than 3-5 seconds. I do not remember seeing that when I used the regular Gnome desktop on CentOS 6 but I could misremember. The machine is fast and uses a dual-monitor setup with the native nVidia graphics driver. Is this really to be expected? I thought

Bug or not?
Thanks again. This works and the heat has dropped substantially. It is still not as cool as I would like but this will do for now. I still need to file a bug report with the intel / apple gmux people. -Evan On Sat, Feb 14, 2015 at 10:42 PM, Evan Foss <evanfoss at gmail.com> wrote: > On the older kernel > > [ 6.494956] nouveau [ CLK][0000:01:00.0] 07: core 270-405 MHz >

...y set to 8 Gb. - The 4K desktop is unusable because the font, icons etc. are too small. Since I have not yet figured out how to increase font size etc. when in 4K mode, I changed display resolution to 1600 x 1200. This is only a stop-gap measure though and I hope there is a better solution. - The trackpad is obnoxious to use and it is very hard to use it to maneuver around the screen. Should I disable it and simply rely on the mouse? - I do like the fact that the touchscreen can actually be used to select windows in Centos, move them around etc. - When I have the Dell extension dock connected at s...

CentOS on new Thinkpads
...ly resurrected mouse buttons, yeah!) * RJ-45 (this rules out a LOT of laptops including Dell) * Intel graphics / hardware The Lenovo T series meets these requirements. My only concern would be issues mentioned on this list and bleeding-edge issues. I know people have had a lot of problems with the trackpad, screen flickering and other things. But I think most of this can be blamed on bleeding-edge hardware compatibility. For example, I think the synaptics driver is almost always broken in the latest models (move the mouse and it deletes everything you've typed!) but if you uninstall it and use li...

I thought this was not an issue on Linux or maybe I am engaging in wishful thinking... Do you reproduce the same issue w/ another hardware (mouse or trackpad if it's a laptop). Does `tail -F /var/log/messages` show anything special while this is happening? Would be nice to check the resources consumption too, in order to see it those lags correspond to high-activity peaks. right-clicking in osx
I can't help but think that this is a very obvious question, but I can't find the answer anywhere - how do you right-click in wine on a mac? Ctrl+click does nothing and there is of course only one mouse button.

GTA San Andreas camera and graphics problems
..."The audio works but I can't see anything, just a black screen." When I made the video, I didn't take into account that most mac users are probably using a macbook, this is where I'm guessing these problems are stemming from, probably having intergrated graphics cards and a trackpad are causing the camera and graphical problems they're having. It's hard to tell because many people on youtube do not ever respond when you ask them to follow up with details. So I'm going to link the video and if you guys can help me out and give me suggestions or solutions I'd...

Wierd cursor jump when I type letter "y"
Guys. I have this problem for a long time. In large number of times when I type letter "y", like in "you" my typing cursor jumps 2-3 rows up or 1-2 words to the left. I am unable to understand why. Could it be something with lap-top keyboard? Typing rate? CentOS 5.5 Gnome, I mostly use Firefox and Thunderbird. Ljubomir
