UseR! 2010 - my impressions
...had many interesting ideas and useful contributions. During the whole time that I was there, I could not help but get the feeling that I am a part of something great.
Before I end, let me add a few words about a special person. This conference would not have been as great as it was without the tireless efforts of Kate Mullen. The great thing about Kate is that she did so much without ever hogging the limelight. Thank you, Kate and thank you NIST!
I cannot wait for UseR!2011!
Best,
Ravi.

Authenticate using AD UPN name
...around
in the change logs for later versions of samba, but couldn’t find anything
relating to UPN name.
So the more general question, is there anyone who has got this working
under any circumstances, logging in/authenticating with UPN through
winbind? Is it possible?
@Samba devs: Thanks for your tireless and awesome work with samba and
winbind.
Kind regards,

This is a very reasonably request, and all useRs who benefit from the
tireless work of R-core should consider doing it.? I have considered
it, but compiling R from sources on OS X has been my stumbling block.
At least last time I tried I got stuck at the? Fortran step. It doesn't

Typo is now 1435 lines of very aesthetic code and is backed up by 1120
lines of tests putting it at a 0:8 ratio.

data.frame: adding a column that is based on ranges of values in another column
Dear List,
I've been looking tirelessly for a solution to this dilemma but without success. Perhaps someone has an idea that will guide me in the right direction.
Suppose I have the following data.frame:
DF = data.frame(X = c(114.5508, 114.6468, 114.6596, 114.6957, 114.6828, 114.8903, 114.9519, 114.8842,

Rails 4.1.0.beta1
Hohoho, it''s Xmas time, kids!
We have a beta full of goodies for everyone who''s been nice this year.
Rails 4.1 is packed to the gills with more marvelous real-world feature
extractions, bug fixes, and the tireless polish only a community full of
Rails elves could bestow it with.
While this is just a beta release, it''s arguably a lot better tested and
ready than most of our previous beta releases. The bulk of what''s new are
legit bug fixes and additional features. Less shifting of the te...

New committer: Roman Kagan
I'm happy to announce that I've added Roman Kagan as a committer to
the https://github.com/libguestfs/libguestfs repo. Roman has
contributed many high quality patches over a period of one year.
Roman, the rules are:
- Post patches first on the mailing list.
- Uncontroversial patches should receive one ACK before being pushed
upstream.
- Very complex or "controversial"

c2d4u3.5 ppa for Ubuntu 20.04?
...ve already switched three different repos to use
it. For example RcppArmadillo now does a 'matrix' over 3.5 and 4.0, and
installs quite a few packages, including reticulate, from these repos. Works
like a charm [1] -- and I need to blog about the updated r-travis.
Sp big thanks to the ever-tireless Michael. Focal for R 4.0 is already at

Now that I have 5 completed datasets and I have to pool all the 5 datasets
to get one combined output for a poisson model.
I have checked previous queries about combining MI datasets and they are
quite dated and none really related to my problem.
I have been tirelessly working with zelig and unfortunately i am getting
real stuck! here is my R code:

x25 line xterm
Noted that xterm by default uses 24 lines
per window.
I have reviewed /etc/termcap looking for a
specific entry for xterm that I can edit
to change the ln#24 to ln#25 for our
application.
When I used RedHat there was an editable
option to change the number of displayable
lines as is done in putty.
Any suggestions?

c2d4u3.5 ppa for Ubuntu 20.04?
Hi
I tried to use Michael's ppa after having installed Ubuntu 20.04 and R 4,
and it seems the ppa is not available now for 20.04, I get message: The
repository 'http://ppa.launchpad.net/marutter/c2d4u3.5/ubuntu focal
Release' does not have a Release file
Am I doing something wrong, or is it correct that it is not available yet?
Are there any plans to implement it at some point?
