setting timezone from kickstart
Hi all,
I used to do manual installs so I would set the timezone each time.
I have now migrated to kickstart and I wish to use a command line (at
boot) parameter
to set the needed timezone.
I am familiar with timeconfig and that works. I tried timeconfig --help
(looking for command line arguments)
and there appears to not be a command line way that I see to set the
timezone.
I have seen mention of changing symbolic links and stuff - but I was
hoping for
a system command to change the timezone. Like "timec...

using true UTC timezone everywhere
...so, if you have servers in several different timezones, it's better if
all systems follow the same clock.
So, I'm thinking it's perhaps better if I just use ZONE="UTC" on all
systems. These are the steps I can think of so far:
- make sure the BIOS clock is set to UTC
- run timeconfig and make sure "System Clock uses UTC" is checked
- cp /usr/share/zoneinfo/UTC /etc/localtime
- edit /etc/sysconfig/clock and set ZONE="UTC"
- reboot
Voila - instant UTC clock. Never need to worry about daylight savings again.
Anybody can think of any problems with:

startup config scripts for CentOS
On CentOS-based VM appliance I'm building, I would like to create a script
that runs upon login that asks the user a series of questions that does
(among other things) ask them to input their networking information (IP,
mask, gate, DNS, etc).
I'm hoping you guys might point me in the right direction. Here are some of
the specific things I'm looking to accomplish with such a script.

FW: SUGGESTION: allow TZ to be specified at time of mount (PR#124 25)

I ran timezone and found it had hardware clock set to GMT and TZ set to
GB. Setting TZ to GMT had no affect on the timestamps of the files.

Re: Logon Hours problems (really stuck)
Hi guys,
Unfortunately this is still happening I've tried restarting Samba. Users who
should be denied access after 21:00 are being denied access at 19:00.
Our time zone in South Africa is GMT+2. Perhaps I should set the timezone on
the server to UTC/GMT ?
Do you think this will help ? Should I then leave the time set to the
current time in South Africa ? Or should I set the time to the
