Textpattern and underscores
When using Textpattern with PHP Markdown Extra there is a problem with the
textpattern tags. Tags like <txp:image id="42" /> are parsed, but tags like
<txp:site_name /> that have an underscore are not. Any ideas how to deal
with this?
Thanks list,

Radius 0.0.1 -- Powerful Tag-Based Templates
I am pleased to announce the immediate release of Radius 0.5.0.
Radius is a small, but powerful tag-based template language for Ruby
inspired by the template languages used in MovableType
<www.movabletype.org> and TextPattern <www.textpattern.com>. It uses
tags similar to XML, but can be used to generate any form of plain text
(HTML, e-mail, etc...).
This release is much more feature complete than previous releases with
it''s own domain language and support for nested tags.

Belgian Ruby on Rails Site
Hello,
I recently started http://www.onrails.be
Onrails.be is a Belgian Ruby on Rails site (in Dutch).
At the moment however, the site is powered by Textpattern (PHP CMS).
I already knew that, and I''m just getting to know Rails myself.
If some Dutch people visit this forum:
//message is written in Dutch from this point

I want to blog!
This isn''t Rails or Ruby related, but I just need some advice and
thought I''d ask the bright individuals here. I want to start my own
blog but I''m not sure where to begin. I don''t want to get a blogger
account because I want to have my own domain. Blogger also doesn''t
have many features. My hosting service is 1AND1 so it supports php,
cgi and mysql.

Is there any editor for textile?
Something which has buttons, and will auto insert textile code for marking
user inputs. (If possible displays a preview also.)
Thanks.

Using Ruby on Rails to Create Historical Blog
...the date of the events that
they describe.
I first had the idea because I thought it would be really easy to just
back-date the posts to historical dates and have them automatically
arranged for me. Turns out this won''t really work in blog applications
I''ve tried (WordPress, Textpattern) because you cant'' use a post date
that is earlier than 1970 -- think that''s a PHP issue. Adding custom
fields for the date and then being able to order by them is also proving
to be a pain.
Thus far I know next to nothing about RoR, though I would be excited to
learn if this...

PHP Markdown 1.0.1d
...aks
where Markdown do not prescribes them.
* Added a `TextileRestrited` method to the textile compatibility
mode. There
is no restriction however, as Markdown does not have a
restricted mode at
this point. This should make PHP Markdown work again in the latest
versions of TextPattern.
Although it does not figure in the release notes, I also corrected a
few issues in the way emphasis is applied for all the edge cases I
could think of.

Eliminating bad tests from SuperRedCloth

cruft coming from Markdown or made up to fill a gap some years ago.
I''d like to float the proposition that we make Super (and thus
RedCloth 4) behave as identically as possible to Textile2 as working
on http://textile.thresholdstate.com/ (the textpattern site seems to
be running an older version of this). There are some new things
Textile2 does that SRC does not and I''d like to impliment those and
also strip out the cruft I mentioned. This may break backwards
compatibility for some people''s content (I''m thinking...

Advice regarding extending RedCloth
Hello,
I am in a bit of a bind. I need to reliably parse mediawiki markup to
html, and the only parser that I can find (mediacloth) has a lot to be
desired, so I would like to extend something that works and parse
mediawiki markup. My question to this list is should I start working
on RedCloth or SuperRedCloth or is there a difference as far as
extending them? Also does anyone know of a write up
