tattooing of tdbsam backend with logon script value
...onf "logon script" value. Therefore said users, who have once had an explicitly defined "logon script" value can (seemingly) no longer returned to the state where they use whatever "logon script" is defined in smb.conf. Is there a way to reset said users, removing the tattooing effect? Thanks, Chris

Significance of interaction depends on factor reference level - lmer/AIC model averaging
Dear R users, I am using lmer combined with AIC model selection and averaging (in the MuMIn package) to try and assess how isotope values (which indicate diet) vary within a population of animals. I have multiple measures from individuals (variable 'Tattoo') and multiple individuals within social groups within 4 locations (A, B, C ,D) crucially I am interested if there are

samba 3.5.x, pdbedit smb.conf and profiles
Who wins the fight for the roaming profile path, "logon path" in smb.conf or "profile path" set by pdbedit? How do you force the "profile path" in pdbedit to get its value from "logon path" in smb.conf? Is it possible to disable roaming profiles by user with pdbedit and leave "logon path" set in smb.conf? Thanks.

MuMIn - assessing variable importance following model averaging, z-stats/p-values or CI?
Dear R users, Recent changes to the MuMIn package now means that the model averaging command (model.avg) no longer returns confidence intervals, but instead returns zvalues and corresponding pvalues for fixed effects included in models. Previously I have used this package for model selection/averaging following Greuber et al (2011) where it suggests that one should use confidence intervals from

Trouble with Ruby on Rails
Some background info: I am an OS X user, and my MAC system is OS X 10.6.8(snow leopard). @1st problem (regarding Ruby on Rails installation): I have installed ruby "1.9.2" with RVM. When I typed "ruby -v" command in terminal after installation, it says that the ruby version I have is "1.8.7". Strange, isn''t it? So, I have tried "rvm use 1.9.2"

Time To Pick the Mongrel BUGS Mascot!
Bradley Taylor shot me this *goldmine* of ugly ugly ugly dogs: http://www.sonoma-marinfair.org/uglydogvote.shtml I *have* to use one of these for the Mongrel BUGS Mascot. He''ll go on our bug list page and replace the little beetles on the left. Pick the dog you think best represents a lovable but defective pooch and reply to this with your +1. Strange problem with "and" - "&&"
Hello I have a strange problem with this code: <%unless (@students.empty? and params[:commit].nil?) %> <%="test"%> <%= render :partial => ''results'' %> <% end %> Even though in some cases @students.empty? returns false and params [:commit].nil? returns true (or the opposite), it displays the test and the render area. I put before and

lme mildly blowing up
I'm running a hierarchical linear model of legislative committee representativeness (so I have committees in chambers) using lme. It's a simple random-intercept-as-outcome model. When I run it, everything converges and I get results like this, trimmed for brevity. The following are the group(chamber)-level variables. The dependent variable is bounded between zero and one.

Security issues
We have a new Cyber Security professional on our staff that now says we can't use Samba for the following reasons: ==================================================================== At this time any appearance that Samba-3 is capable of acting as a domain controller in native ADS mode is limited and experimental in nature. This functionality should not be used until the Samba Team

Server String not taking affect
Just wondered if anyone fiqured out how to change the server string. (See below) Thanks Will >From a previously posted message: When viewing all mapped drives from WinXP, is there a way to change the string that is shown to describe which server the share belongs too? This is what is shown: groups on 'Samba Server (morpheus)' (G:) What I would like to be shown:

A better guide to Markdown
Hello! Is there a simpler, better designed guide to Markdown than http://daringfireball.net/projects/markdown/ that I can refer my forum users to? Something Googleish-looking. Or do forum owners usually end up having to write their own guides? Thank you! Mikkel -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Question about policies [OT?]
Hi, I'm using samba 3 as a domain controller. For some XP-pro laptops I would like to disable the firewall when they are logged in on our network (I don't like it but I have to). Is this possible with Windows policies ? If so, does someone know about good reading material about policies ? I do have "Mastering Windows XP professional" but that's absolutely no help. Thanks

monty's branch test
Hello! I tested some songs with the new code that Monty merged into the snapshot. It works better than the previous code ;-), but I noticed some strange noises made at high frequencies, even at very high bitrates : a continuous, high-pitched noise is added over the medium voice, and it sounds like a whistle. The previous code didn't do that. On the other hand, very low bitrates sound much
