New packages: contrast and desirability
...e is a package vignette that shows examples for a basic two-way layout and a design with repeated measures. The desirability package contains S3 classes for multivariate optimization using the desirability function approach of Harrington (1965) using the functional forms described by Derringer and Suich (1980). There are functions for maximization, minimization, hitting a target, box constraints and a function for creating arbitrarily shaped desirability equations. There is also a package vignette that shows an example of a multi-response surface experiment. Please send me emails for suggestions...

Calllog
Hi guys, I have an IVR configured in my PBX, which callers use to browse thru the list of stores. Once they choose a store, the call gets redirected to that store (obviously using Dial() application). Now, my question is: Each of this calls is logged in the calllog as one entry. How could I configure my dialplan so that that portion of the call, which is in fact just browsing thru the IVR,

Stress-Testing Asterisk
Hi All, I was wondering, what tools are readily available out there in Asteriskland for me to use in stress/load testing asterisk box I have in the lab. I want to observe how my box holds out under heavy/light/medium load. Thanks, Jeng ___________________________________________________________ Want ideas for reducing your carbon footprint? A Leg Control on Asterisk Callback
I'm confused about something. It's the way Asterisk handles the A leg (ie the first party dialed) on an originate command via the Manager Interface. Lets say our originate commands looks like this: ACTION: Originate Async: yes Timeout: 60000 Exten: callback Channel: SIP/5551212 at provider Variable: destination=SIP/8675309 at provider Callerid: 5551212 Context: default ActionID: 849120

Still trying to make my Asterisk PBK talk to our Nortel Phone Switch (C15k). Nortel did an upgrade which changed a bunch of things today, so I thought I'd give it another shot. It looks like I'm much closer this time, but still no go. Can't do calling in either direction. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks! Shawn [nortel] host=10.0.0.10 insecure=very type=peer qualify=no

[Copfilter] Copy of quarantined email - *** SPAM *** [6.6/6.0] Problems getting Asterisk to detect call in
I have installed an Asterisk 1.4 on Suse93 using a FritzCard. Some calls are logged to the ISDN log, but Asterisk is not detecting incoming calls. I wonder whether some other device or process is preventing Asterisk from gaining access to the isdn line? Is there some way to ensure that only Asterisk can listening to the line, or get it to share the line with some other device, such as the fax
