Any other new stuff that I may have missed? All of these are sub-$300

sometimes the docs lag behind reality.

7.1, mpt and slow writes
...this needs a few more eyes:
http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-scsi/2009-January/003782.html
In short, writes are slow, likely do to the write-cache being enabled on
the controller. The sysctl used in 6.x to turn the cache off don't seem
to be in 7.x.

I must say, Dovecot has impressed the hell out of me. I had a chance to
deal with the same mailbox in courier and dovecot, and everything is much
faster, especially in mail.app and roundcube. Insanely fast...
What else is out there for windows clients?
Thanks,

In the mailing lists I see there used to be a similar problem, but that it

Any ideas? What other information can I provide to track this down?
Thanks,

And since I know there's someone lurking here that knows this, is there
any way to have OpenSSH deny a login when a user has key-based auth setup
on their account? I never found a good way to take care of that; changing
the shell, etc. is a bit awkward.

LSI Logic raid status
Hi,
I have a LSI Logic sata/sas raid running, is there a way to see the
state of
the volume, like optimal, degraded or resyncing?
I've tried several commands with camcontrol but I cant figure it out.

Any ideas? Should I even bother trying to get this model to work?

Any ideas?

--delete, but not for symlinks?
Hello,
I've been using rsync to keep two boxes in sync until one replaces the
other. To make things a bit more to my liking and to make apache's
userdir config a bit simpler, I have added a number of symlinks in the new
machine's /home. Both boxes have hashed userdirs, ie: /home/a/auser,
/home/b/buser, etc.
So I have some symlinks like /home/a/aweirdo -> /home/CORP/aweirdo.

Does anyone know the rules for md5/blowfish salt characters?

7.x and multiple IPs in jails
Hello all,
I've been searching around and have come up with no current discussions on
this issue. I'll keep it brief:
In 7.0 or 7.1 is there any provision to have multiple IP addresses in a
jail?
I'm stumped on this, as I just started a new hosting project that needs a
few jails. At least one of those requires multiple IPs, which is
something I never really even realized was

status of tripplite_usb and FreeBSD 6.2
I got FreeBSD up and running last night (many thanks to Charles
Sprickman for a ton of useful suggestions along the way), and took a
look at tripplite_usb on an OMNIVS1000.
The tripplite_usb driver basically sends old-school Tripp Lite serial
commands to the UPS via HID SetReport packets, and receives responses
over the first Interrupt IN pipe.
Later UPSes seem to be m...
