stat() performance on files on zfs vs. ufs
Hi, Bug ID: 6775100 stat() performance on files on zfs should be improved was fixed in snv_119. I wanted to do a quick comparison between snv_117 and snv_122 on my workstation to see what kind of improvement there is. I wrote a small C program which does a stat() N times in a loop. This is of course a micro-benchmark. Additionally it doesn''t cover a case if doing stat() on not cached entries in DNLC has been improved too. So I run...

A disk on Thumper giving random CKSUM error counts
...er that I was asked to help upgrade to modern disks. It is still in a testing phase, and the one UltraStar 3Tb currently available to the server''s owners is humming in the server, with one small partition on its tail which replaced a dead 250Gb disk earlier in to pool. The OS is still SXCE snv_117 so far. Early tests which have filled the UltraStar with data in a couple of single-partition pools on it had shown that the writes and scrubs yielded 0 errors. However, now that this disk works as part of a larger old pool (9*5-vdev raidz1 sets), it suffers CKSUM error counts found on ever...

Resliver making the system unresponsive
This must be resliver day :) I just had a drive failure. The hot spare kicked in, and access to the pool over NFS was effectively zero for about 45 minutes. Currently the pool is still reslivering, but for some reason I can access the file system now. Resliver speed has been beaten to death I know, but is there a way to avoid this? For example, is more enterprisy hardware less susceptible to

snv_110 -> snv_121 produces checksum errors on Raid-Z pool
I have a 5-500GB disk Raid-Z pool that has been producing checksum errors right after upgrading SXCE to build 121. They seem to be randomly occurring on all 5 disks, so it doesn''t look like a disk failure situation. Repeatingly running a scrub on the pools randomly repairs between 20 and a few hundred checksum errors. Since I hadn''t physically touched the machine, it seems a
