Date Calculation
I am trying to calculate the number of days between 2 dates using
Time.now - object.date where object.date is a date pulled from a
database. I want to display the age of the entry in the database in
days. I keep getting an error about not being able to convert a date
into a float. What am I doing wrong. If I use object.date -
object.date it seems to work but the answer is useless (0). I

Calendar date picker for use with rails.
Howdy folks,
As I was putting together a rough form for a rails app, I got to
thinking how much smoother (in my siytuation) a little calendar widget
would be than the default date picker selects.
Does anyone know if such a thing exists ?
I suspect it would have to be somewhat designed with rails in mind to
populate the right kind of post params for convenient use at the
controller end.

Login works in dev but not in production
Hi,
I''ve implemented the login code from the Agile rails book and it works
perfectly in local development but as soon as I put it into production
it wont accept usernames/passwords. It just goes straight back to login
page.
Any ideas? thanks

Migrating from Mysql to PostgreSQL
I tried to use ''rake db_schema_dump'' from old MySQL database and then
use ''rake db_schema_import'' to rebuild the database in PostgreSQL. The
issue here is that only some of tables can be imported successfully.
For example, in the dumped schema.rb:
create_table "profiles", :force => true do |t|
t.column "ticker", :string, :limit

All My Rails Apps Died Over the Holidays
I have several Rails (version 1.0) apps I''m working on on a Win XP box
using Webrick that were working fine before I left for the holidays. I
came back, started up and they all get the same syntax and compile
errors:
compile error
./script/../config/../app/views/time/list.rhtml:4: Invalid char `\212''
in expression
repeated over and over. Refreshing the page gives thes same

Rails on Tomcat or JBoss?
Hi all,
The Rails book talks about running Rails under Apache, but is there a
(relatively) easy way to deploy it to either Tomcat or JBoss? Is the CGI
servlet the only option?
Thanks,
Ken

Mongrel 0.3.6 -- Win32 Service/Rails Real Good
Hello Folks,
This release of Mongrel should make the win32 folks go crazy. Thanks to
Luis Lavena it supports a full service system for installing any Rails app
as a service. This lets you start your rails apps from either the command
line or the Service console. Stopping is still a bit problematic but we
hope to have that solved in the next release.
You win32 folks should probably send Luis
