X11-Forwarding for Reliant UNIX (formerly SINIX)
Hi ! To all: A Happy New Year ! During the last week I did some investigations why the X11 forwarding on Reliant UNIX Versions 5.44 and 5.45 does not work out of the box with OpenSSH-2.3.0p1. The result fo my investigation is: 1. The OpenSSH sshd opens a TCP/IP-port 6000 + display number and listens to it. This is fine and works with Solaris 7, DEC-OSF 4.0D, Linux and FreeBSD-4.2 but not

Openssh installation only works for user root
Hi, I have recently compiled a copy of OpenSSH for use on Reliant Unix ( Sinix ) version 5.45. My installation works okay for user root. When I try to log on as another user I get prompted for the user password. When I type this in OpenSSH throws me out each time. I have been able to see any errors. My version is OpenSSH_3.8p1, SSH protocols 1.5/2.0, OpenSSL 0.9.7d 17 Mar 20...

Problem with 3.7.1p2 on Reliant Unix
Hi Group, recently I upgraded to v 3.7.1p2 on Reliant Unix (former SINIX). With sser root everything works fine, but with a "normal" user the session terminates.. I put the logfile of the "sshd -dddd" at the end. What is wrong? regard Stephan --------------- debug2: read_server_config: filename /etc/sshd_config debug1: sshd version OpenSSH_3.7.1p...

[Bug 252] New: Patch for use of /etc/default/login
...iew/174009 (Sun likes to change URLs ... it's not more than 'man login') for a description. It handles things like setting a different PATH for root and normal users at login time and the umask setting, quite a convenient feature for administrators. This file exists and is used in SINIX / ReliantUnix also. /etc/default/login was handled in SSH 1 since at least 1998. I rewrote some of the old code to gather at least PATH and UMASK. I added a paranoia check to have always a minimum PATH set but take care! I fear this changed the semantics of --with-default-path. ------- You ar...

Code Page Problem with samba 1.9.18p4?
I am running samba version 1.9.18p4 on a sinix machine (unix svr4). My NT workstations use the german code page 850. In earlier versions of samba (1.9.17p2) the character mapping worked just fine, using character set = iso8859-1 client code page = 850 in my smb.conf. Since upgrading to samba 1.9.18p4 this don't work any more. Is this a k...

nmbd Problem
...mba I can see the shares from an NT box but I do not have enough time to access them and after some seconds I may not even see the shares anymore. I had a backup of my old smb.conf (which worked fine for two weeks). But the restore did not help me out. I have had this problem already once on 'Sinix 5.43C30' also with 2.0.4b but only Win98-Clients. So I thought it might be the 2.0.4 version and reinstalled 2.0.3 but the problem was still there. I have also tried to use the default smb.conf, that ships with the distribution (domain logons = yes) which was not successful. The only thing that...
