...ave-mail-on-server (LMOS). That's great and works well for most people. But for some reason, they MUA (outlook) downloads messages more than once. As the MUA asks for messages, I'm sure it's Outlook's fault, but I was wondering if there is anything that can be done about this on the servern side, or if anyone knows how to fix Outlook. I'm sending this here, because they report that with non-dovecot servers it does work correctly. They do not want IMAP, because they want to use Outlook, which cannot support both Exchange and IMAP simultaneously. This user has multiple accounts,...

Redundant ldap idmap backend possible?
...the documentation (for version 3.0.23c) it is only possible to specify one ldap server, mine config line looks like: idmap backend = ldap:ldap://idmap.xelerated.com I did try to map the idmap.xelerated.com entry in DNS to two servers, but it only uses the first entry returned from the DNS-servern. I want my environment to work even if one of the LDAP-servers goes down, how do I make implement redundancy? smbmount deprecated - what about Windows 9x?
Hallo, I've just installed Kernel 2.6.25.2 - works fine. But now when I use "smbmount" for mounting shares from my Win9x clients the system (kernel) tells me smbfs is deprecated and will be removed from the 2.6.27 kernel. Please migrate to cifs. But at least Win9x seems not to like cifs. Mounting via smbfs works since years, mounting (with the same options) via cifs

I use this shell script to back up: for i in a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z `seq 0 9`; do

I'm wonder why Timo didn't expand mail_replica to be a list of servers rather than just accepting one. That would sort out a lot of this already. mail_replica = 'server1,server2, .. serverN' Am I missing something? Cheers! B

howto enable ssh on connect to rsync daemon
Hi, I'm trying to setup automatic sync of files over SSH from node2 to node1. node2 is the "server" and node1 is the "client". I have setup rsync like this on the nodes which runs AIX (4.3.3 and 5.1): 1. Installed rsync from Linux Toolbox (rsync-2.5.4-1.aix4.3.ppc.rpm) on both nodes. 2. Added following to both nodes /etc/services file: rsync 873/tcp 3. Added

unable to access shares on Windows 98 machine
...now are there do not show up. I've tried just browsing to the shares in nautilus, places -> networks -> Windows Network, pick the machine, pick the share. I've also used the following command line to mount the share: sudo mount -t cifs //192.168.0.14/D /mnt/server_d -o user=john, servern=SERVER,sec=lanman Same results either way. After six months of searching for answers on the internet, all I found are two clues. If I connect to the share using "smbclient \\server\d", then type "dir", some of the files listed are missing the first letter of the name. Also,...
