Asterisk, channel banks and SDH
hi,
I need some feedback on an asterisk installation my company is planning
to supply. Here's the basic structure:
PSTN -> Asterisk -> Channel Bank -> SDH --- fiber --- SDH -> analog
extension
Some additional info:
1) Fiber connects the main exchange with 8 other substations, with an
average distance of 13 or so kilometers between each station.
2) Channel bank needs to connect to 100 or so analog ports on the SDH.
Questions:
1) what channel ba...

Em. The error should mean you can only use had~hdd for ioemu. hde+ is for vbd. You can have a try with:

Hi Kelly,
Try running 'iostat -xdmc 1'. Look for a single drive that has
substantially greater await than ~10msec. If all the drives
except one are taking 6-8msec, but one is very

Centos 7 and qemu-kvm
...t error about undefined reference to timer_gettime
searching for that says basically use virt-manager
so I installed virt-manager - I have file images and those work.
some times I do directly to a USB connected disk.
I do not see how to do that in virt-manager ???
How do I use a device like /dev/sdh as my disk???
Thanks,

CentOS 7 - Have 2 disks, each with a biosboot partition, can only boot off one of them
Hi all,
I used a kickstart script to setup a new machine of mine with RAID 1
(I couldn't get anaconda to create matching partition schemes). So I've
now got /dev/sdg1 and /dev/sdh1 as 'bios_grub' (/dev/sd{a-f} are a
separate array).

Question about RAID 5 array rebuild with mdadm
...ms are right!):
I wipe out the superblocks on all of the drives in the array and
rebuild with --assume-clean
for i in c d e f g h i j ; do mdadm --zero-superblock /dev/sd$i ; done
mdadm --create /dev/md2 --assume-clean --level=5 --raid-devices=8 /dev/
sdc /dev/sdd /dev/sde /dev/sdf /dev/sdg /dev/sdh /dev/sdi /dev/sdj
ok, now it says that the array is recovering and will take about 10
hours to rebulid.
/dev/sd[c-i] say that they are "active sync" and /dev/sdj says it's a
spare that's rebuilding.
But now I scroll back in my history and see that oops, the chunk size

Anaconda kickstart laying out / randomly; ignoring --ondisk in part command
...md0 raid.01 raid.02 raid.03
raid.04
When I only have 4 drives installed in the system, this works fine.
However, whenever I have more than 4 drives, it seems that anaconda ignores
my --ondisk, and lays out /dev/md0 somewhat randomly across the drives.
In particular, with 8 drives (sda..sdh), with the exact same kickstart file,
it lays out /dev/md0 on drives sda, sdb, sdg and sdh.
with 10 drives (sda..sdj), with the exact same kickstart file, it lays out
/dev/md0 on drives sda, sdh, sdi, sdj.
Does this make sense to anybody? Any help would be appreciated greatly.
Thanks!

permanently add md device
Hi All
Currently i'm setting up a 5.4 server and try to create a 3rd raid device, when i run:
$mdadm --create /dev/md2 -v --raid-devices=15 --chunk=32 --level=raid6 /dev/sdc /dev/sdd /dev/sde /dev/sdf /dev/sdg /dev/sdh /dev/sdi /dev/sdj /dev/sdk /dev/sdl /dev/sdm /dev/sdn /dev/sdo /dev/sdp /dev/sdq
the device file "md2" is created and the raid is being configured. but somehow /dev/md2 is flushed when i reboot the system , same story if i create the file by mknod or MAKEDEV.
does anyone know a way to so...

Recommended wireless card (or is there a chance to get either iwi or ath fixed)?
Hi,
after some time without FreeBSD I installed 7.1 on an IBM Thinkpad T30
(with ZFS root on encrypted geli, works great).
Config is:
FreeBSD hasking.alashan.nongo 7.1-STABLE FreeBSD 7.1-STABLE #3: Thu

root@hasking.alashan.nongo:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/HASKING i386
I tried using my ath based D-Link DWL G650, which still seems to have
