oggdropXPd.exe crashes when resampling is activated
...y crashes. OGG file is 0 Bytes. This
Always happens.
Has anybody seen this working?
The version I use is oggdropXPd V1.1 (Compiled 20020719).
Using oggenc from vorbis-tools works fine, but oggdropXPd should work too,
right?
You might wonder why I need to resample: I am encoding CD audio data for
ScummVM, an emulator for LucasArts Scumm Games (Day of the Tentacle, Monkey
Island). At this time, ScummVM only supports 22050 sampled audio due to
internal limitations.
What do you think?

sound error with Freddy Fish
I'm sure that this has been asked and answered already, but I can't find it.
I have been able to get wine to run Freddi Fish 3 for my daughter but
after starting up, showing the splash screen and starting the game, the
game dies with the error... "Cannot get the sound card driver to accept
the sound clip" or something along those lines. The strange thing is
that it has been

Silly answers to silly questions for a silly Noob.
...ta synced. In fact I can do more with Linux than I can do in WinXP anyways, and most times better, faster, and more secure anyway.
So with that, There's only a few things I want to run in Wine, mostly older games I have hanging around since the Win95 era. Mostly stuff that doesn't run in SCUMMVM or DOSBOX. Such as Baldur's Gate II, Escape From Monkey Island, Grim Fandango, and other such classics.

Curse of Monkey Island doesn't work with wine 0.9.24
I installed the game like it is described in the WineHQ application
database. The installation worked without problems but running the game
produced the following error message:
Cannot create DirectSound object (-2147467259)
I got around this by switching off OSS sound and using ALSA instead,
but know I have the same problem that Erich Hoover mentioned in the
AppDB. The music starts to play but

Could you post your .wine/user.reg ? the DllOverrides section?

there isn't any linux emus for this.
So I run the emutaltor callus with wine, with medius succes: Callus works
fine, everything is ok, but it uses 100% CPU, and becouse of that, the soung
goes wrongs somethimes.
I don't know why it is takes so mutch work to wine... Callus emulate only 66

Again: Next libvorbis release?
..., and I know just much
freaking work managing a project like this is, and esp. making
releases. I know because i have acted/still act as release monkey
project lead for various projects, including the Fink package manager
for OS X (which has a libvorbis package I maintain), as well as the
ScummVM project (which lets you play old adventure games on new
computers), which uses libvorbis (with code I wrote ;-). That said,
the following is not meant to attack anybody responsible for releases.
Rather, it is meant as a honest inquiry, and a honest offer to help.
So, here's my question:...
