I've just ordered a Siemens Gigaset C450 IP cordless IP/DECT phone, given that it's supported by asterisk http://www.voipuser.org/review_41.html However, I see that a slightly better Gigaset S450 IP is available for only a slight price premium. Hi All, Just added a Siemens DECT SIP/PSTN S450 phone to login to my A*k server, and I see "Got SIP response 405 "Method Not Allowed" back from 192.168.3.64" but the phone seems to work ok. Hi folks: I know it's come up a few times before, but I need some more detail. I'm looking for a SIP DECT (cordless) phone for North American installations. I've heard only of the Siemens Gigaset S450/C450 phones. Apparently these aren't sold for use in NAm, even though they're supposed to be legal (in the United States, anyway). On top of that, I understand they have some annoying issues anyway. Can anyone suggest a solid alternative DECT SIP phone that is available in North America?...

Can anyone recommend a good cordless user-configurable SIP hardphone that is readily available in the states and doesn't cost $300? There seem to be a plethora of decent and affordable corded phones (like from Grandstream) but the search for a cordless unit seems elusive. I purchased a vtech 8100 online only to discover after receiving it that it is locked to vonage service. Thank you.

For some unfathomable reason, Siemens USA doesn't offer the Gigaset IP range in the U.S. I'm particularly interested in the Gigaset S685 IP. Since it's DECT 6.0, and there's an English (UK) version, I'm thinking it should work just fine, after dealing with the walwart issue (and maybe caller ID signalling). Hi all, I am close to purchasing some new DECT phones for our home office here in the UK. We use Asterisk and I am sorely tempted by the Siemens C475IP or the "soon-to-become-available-in-the-uk" S685IP. Both systems have great feature sets and, on-paper at least, look to be the bee's knees. Anyone got any skeletons on them? Thanks Alan -- The way out is open!
