Eee gad. What I meant was:
I have a binary based off of rpclient that prints out the raw share SD as a
binary stream instead of trying to parse it into human readable format (the
default behavior). That is what I'm after.
Hopefully that makes more sense.

'net rpc trustdom establish' not yet working?
Hi all,
I've been messing this this for the last few hours trying to trust an NT
domain. I make it down to where it says "Success!" and the domain trust is
added to the secrets.tdb file. However, connecting with rpclient and doing
'enumtrust' gives back no results. I also don't have the trusted domain
available for login on my workstation.
Oh yeah, I'm using Redhat 7.3 with Samba 3.0 alpha 17.
Thanks in advance!

smbpasswd and rpcclient differences between 3.0.14a and 3.0.21a
...commands rpcclient and
smbpasswd does't work as before (and as I wish), when connecting to
remote Windows2000 domain controller.
Below are some tests and outputs, which show the command outputs. In
both cases samba is compiled from original sources. OS - Debian testing
and verified on Ubuntu.
RPCLIENT:
./rpcclient -c 'queryuser 0x2270' -U admin%password PDC
3.0.14a returns neccessary user data, like:
====
User Name : ...

<skip>
...
logon_hrs[0..21]...
====
3.0.21a returns:
===
result was NT_STATUS_NONE_MAPPED

How to list members of a workgroup
Hi
I look for a way to generate a text file, holding the workgroup/user
relation - which users belongs to a workgroup. Can I use a samba tool to
list all members of any known group? Or maybe run a domain ctlr, and
lookup the information in files on the server?
I must get this info from a M$ lan with arround 20.000 workstations and
some hudreds servers.

[Old] Clients cannot login into Samba-Domain
...)
- re-insert the PC into the domain
=> domain logon is working again
So I figured this must be a SID problem. Like domain-SID != machine-SID.
To test, whether this is the problem, I used the following commands but
the SID was always the same:
net getlocalsid ,domain'
net rpc getsid
rpclient ,server' -U ,user'
lsaquery
pdbedit -Lv ,user'
For Windows I downloaded the program "getsid", which compares two
account-SIDs.
getsid \\server 'user-account' \\server 'machine-account'
-> with that I checked, if the PC SID was the same as an User...

Doing this in CLI via rpclient does exactly the same thing:
rpcclient $>? adddriver "Windows x64"
xrxC8030:cupsdrvr.dll:xrxC8030.ppd:cupsui.dll:cups.hlp:NULL:RAW:NULL"

Call for help with Samba Printing and WinNT
...he crunch. We go to the WinNT/TSE server and we can see the
driver mentioned against the printer properties. However when we click
?install? (equivalent to ?connect? on other Wins), it complains that
there is no suitable driver of that name on the PRINT$ share.
A hexdump of ntdrivers.tdb (and also rpclient ? enumdrivers 3) shows
that WinNT/TSE has added to the fake registry, in addition to the set of
driver filenames, a second set of the same filenames in a slightly
different order as ?dependent files?. It wasn't enough to use rpcclient
? adddriver with those additional filenames to overcome the...

Problem with adding printer drivers in Windows XP
I know this question has been asked quite a few times from the archive,
but nothing in the previous posts seems to help my setup. I currently
have samba 3.0.21c running on Slackware with CUPS as the printing
conduit. It's setup as a PDC as can be seen from the smb.conf file
below. I cannot, no matter what I've tried, get the server to allow me
to add printer drivers to a printer

...ry to install HP print drivers via the APW, every thing works
correctly until the last step. I then get the error 'unable to change
to the specified driver, original settings will be restored'.
When I check in print$/W32X86/2, the drivers have copied onto the samba
server. I can also use rpclient to change the driver of the printer.
However, if I try to print to it or share it to another NT system, I get
an error about the samba server not having a valid driver.
I did a search of the google archives and found brief mentions of this
problem with 'certain PCL drivers' but no fixes....

If I do a 'rpclient ... -c "enumdrivers"'
I cannot see the HP200c driver, doing 'rpcclient ... -c enumprinters"
I can see the HP2000C printer with , of course "NO PRINTER DRIVER..."
so I do no know which driver to assign using the setdriver command.
The thing that I do not understand...
