NADA
Dear Users Regarding the NADA package, would anyone be able to help me understand what values are actually plotted on the Y axis of the plot obtained by using the *ros* function on the data and plotting the result with the plot() function? The Y axis is labeled "Values". According to the NADA user manual, ros performs a log transformation of the data by default, but the user can specify no transformation, or some other transformation besides log, if des...

Equivalents of Novell ROS and RWS ?
I am setting up my first production Samba/Linux server and so far I have not found equivalent settings for Novell's ROS and RWS flags. I guess it's some combination of: share modes ( "NEVER" to be turned off) ole locking ( safe for Linux?) blocking locks fake oplocks ( should be off? ) locking ( "should never need to set this" ) oplocks...

[LLVMdev] HELP! PLEASE!
I need help. I can't get it to work. I'm crying here, really, I'm balling my eyes out. Is there any way for a beginner to get support with using LLVM? All my queries are just ignored or disregarded on this mailing list. Why isn't there an llvm mailing list for novices? This is the only thing that can get my programming language, to be operation in a reasonable amount of time,

sortable_list added to by AJAX question
I have a working sortable_list that is added to by AJAX. The problem is that when a new item is added, it''s not sortable. I found a post on scriptaculous using behaviour.js to refresh the DOM when an item is added, but I can''t figure out how to do it with Rails. To test the behaviour method, I used this: var myrules={ ''div#steps ul'' :

rails internals?
Is there a list for discussing Rails internals or is that kind of one of those jealously guarded secret things? Also, I seem to be being a bit of a prat today, but if you read this closely: http://www.rubyonrails.org/images/headlines/community.gif Bit of a grammatical error there. (Sorry!) Giles

R-help Digest, Vol 112, Issue 6
Rich, The documentation for cenboxplot states that the second argument must be logical and not integer. the function cenboxplot substitutes synthetic values for censored values using ros, hence the error message from the ros method. I also do not understand how you expect group = 'SO4' to work. It is not clear that the function will replicate 'SO4' to make a single group. Generating random normal distribution with mean 0 and standard deviation 1
Hello, This must be really simple, but I can't find it on R Site search. I need to generate a random normally distributed series with mean 0 and sd 1. In Matlab, this code is randn(n). The closest I found is runif(20,-1,1) but this forces a maximum and a minimum, and there's no way to specify a standard deviation of 1. >sd(runif(20,-1,1)) [1] 0.578164
