Very High Load on Dovecot 2 and Errors in mail.err.

There are many imap processes in D State. Amount is increasing.
I think they are delayed and are wating for some event.
I have no idea on which event they are waiting.
And many of this in "mail.err" Log:

Strange File locking problems
Dear community members,
we set up samba-3.0-beta1 on Debian Linux 3.0. This was done
taking the Debian unstable package and recompiling it for Debian stable.
The kernel is 2.4.20 from Debian testing with a patch for the RAID
controller in Dell Poweredge 2600.
The server is running quite fine since two weeks and serving 9 PC
(running WinNT, Win2k and WinXP),
providing them mostly with AutoCAD

Parking, playback for at least 500 parallel calls and pickup one
Hi list,
we want to setup an Asterisk on Debian Wheezy.
There will arrive at least 500 parallel calls. All of them we set to parking. Then the receive a playback.
After a certain time, we will pick up one caller. All the other calls will be cancelled now.
Can Asterisk handle this or are there some hardcoded limits?
How much ressources you think will be needed for this solution (CPU, RAM, Disk
