Multiple instances of dovecot in the same machine.
Hello all, I'm trying to run several instances of dovecot, with a different config each one, following the instructions from here: http://wiki.dovecot.org/RunningDovecot I try the command dovecot -c /etc/dovecot/installN/dovecot.conf and get: --- Error: ssl_cert_file: Can't use /etc/ssl/certs/dovecot.pem: No such file or directory Fatal: Invalid configuration in

Can't use string ("0") as a HASH ref while "strict refs" in use at /usr/local/sbin/courier-dovecot-migrate.pl line 300.
...eems that the script is failing with all the maildirs with courierpop3dsizelist. I use courier-imap 4.6.0, access using pop3 causes no problems. Any hint on what's wrong is appreciated, thanks. Unknown setting: driver
Hi, the conversion from courier was done without problems, but now I have a problem with my auth config. I followed the sql example included in the latest dovecot source, and put driver=mysql in dovecot.conf (outside any section), and now I get: --- Error: Error in configuration file /usr/local/etc/dovecot.conf line 50: Unknown setting: driver Fatal: Invalid configuration in

Maildirs++ on ext4
Hi, happy after migrating from Courier to Dovecot without major issues, and saving 3 Gb of RAM after the migration, now I'm going to move everything to a 5 Tb RAID6 array. There's another thread on SATA and cluster fs, but for now I'm looking for the best filesystem in your experience. Currently I use Reiser, but I'd like to know if someone has worked with ext4 and

Mail.app + dovecot 1.2 + POP3
Hello all, I have an user with MacOS X 10.5 Mail.app 3.5, which is connecting using POP3 to a dovecot 1.2 server. He has a 512 kbps link, which he saturates downloading large files. While the bandwidth is saturated, Mail.app shows the POP3 account as "offline" (I haven't used that client, but it seems that it doesn't retry the connection if it fails at some moment). He

Best inode_ratio for maildir++ on ext4
Hi, This might be a silly question: which would be the best inode ratio for a 5 Tb filesystem dedicated to Maildir++ storage? I use ubuntu server, which has a preconfigured setting for mkfs.ext4 called "news" with inode_ratio = 4096, and after formating the fs with that setting and then with the defautl setting I see this difference of space (wasted space, but more inodes): 4328633696

Conflict -> Dovecot + Maildrop (maildirsize)
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I'm having some problems with quota from sql (maildir++) and dovecot + maildrop. I'm using maildrop for MDA and dovecot as IMAP server. When an e-mail arrives, maildrop calculates the quota and updates the 'maildirsize' file. When i use dovecot (webmail, thunderbird) it updates the 'maildirsize' too, overwriting it, but in a

Maildirs on AWS EFS
Hello, AWS released one month ago a EFS system with administered life cycle, which means that files not accessed in the last 30 days are moved to a lower cost storage tier. Currently I hold my e-mail, delivered to Maildir++ folders by postfix and retrieved with Dovecot, in standard EBS volumes. This has the disadvantage that I need to allocate more than enough space to ensure that the volume
