sendmail getting domain\user as email userId
About a year-and-a-half ago I wrote in a thread having this same subject about a problem my sendmail server was having on my Samba4 AD/DC. To solve that problem at the time, I maintained domain user entries in both the sam.ldb and in /etc/passwd, and did not have winbind specified in /etc/nsswitch.conf. I am now trying to remove all users from /etc/passwd and use winbind. Unfortunately, I'm

Command completion of the R binary / Ubuntu
Dear Deepayan and dear list, I notice a small inconsistency with the command completion of the R CMD check. --no-latex is deprecated sincs R 2.12.0 and defunct since 2.13.0 but the command line completion still suggests it: cb at cbdesktop:~/r-devel$ bin/R CMD check --no-<here I hit tab> --no-clean --no-examples --no-latex --no-vignettes --no-codoc --no-install

sendmail getting domain\user as email userId
I've figured out a work-around to the problem of "winbind use default domain = yes" not working on the AD/DC. As mention below, in my specific case procmail does not see HPRS\charmaine as the actual owner 'charmaine' and I get a "Suspicious rcfile "/home/HPRS/charmaine/.procmailrc" message in maillog and the mail does not get delivered to her $HOME/Maildir

Asterisk Compile Problem on Red Hat 9 resolved
Thanks Noah I got the source with CVS to a Windows machine, this is the source causing the problem, although I suspect that getting the files to Windows and then copying them to Linux was not a good idea. I then got the tarball files, unzipped them on Linux and compiled and everything installed fine. My next goal is to setup 1 SIP channel, and be able to call the Asterisk PBX from a

CVS version build error
Hi , I am currently experiencing problems with DTMF detection. My sip-phone using INFO to transfer DTMF, and I see that the version downloaded from asterisk ftp ( 0.4.0) do not support the d= field. I do a clean cvs from a W2K machine and see that in new chan_sip.c , this field has been recognized. But compiling under Linux give me following error. The error come from generating the

openssh-SNAP-20001207 scp "Bad file descriptor" sort-of work-around
Everything seems to work, though I still have trouble with scp. The behaviour is not protocol dependent - acts the same with either. (Using RedHat 6.2) When I scp <file> <host>:<dir>, bash is invoked as a login shell on the server side host - this doesn't seem right. With my /etc/profile, I get Dec 6 15:06:20 amethyst sshd[3027]: error: select: Bad file descriptor in
